Same for me. I tried M5, M6, F9, G410, Honma, Epic Flash and the M6 worked the best for me. Hopefully I can find fairways again. Last year was awful.

Sorry if you didn't like what I said, nothing personal. I will say that I think saying it was one round was a little misleading if you bought it after being a demo. I hope TM will take care of it for you.

It wasn’t a demo it was the only one they had on the rack. I didn’t care about the shaft so I bought it with all the trade in stuff I had it cost me 43.00.

I was simply pointing out the carbon seems to be wearing after I used it one round.

If you contact TM, I'm sure they would question if that was really played a single round as well...Unless you are the guy who takes divots with driver

Sometimes I’m sorry I even post on this forum with the way people are. I was simply trying to show the carbon wearing like people were asking about. I’m a 8 handicap who maybe plays once a week anymore. Used to hover around a 1 or 2. My preferred shot is the fat driver

I think you're looking at the wrong picture. His was a left handed head posted on the last page. On that note, being a left handed head. How many people do you think actually hit it if it was being used as a demo? I would certainly think that a left handed head would have a lot less traffic than a right handed one. Regardless if this head was used as a demo. After a month's time, it shouldn't look like that. I have seen some weird damage to demo heads, but that certainly lines up with the issue that has been reported thus far. I wouldn't say it's the end of the world. But, I don't think it can easily be brushed under the rug as being an abused driver.

Looks like the tee scraped off the fiber carbon bottom. Regardless of one round vs. multiple rounds, I would call TM and see what the deal is. Had any other driver that use carbon fiber on the bottom had an issue like this? That’s a real bummer

does anyone have some tm insight as to what they are doing about this? the problem with the sole of the m5 seems to be evident and will be happening to all of us who have them. what is tm gonna do?

I was told by our local store that their tm rep said there was a known issue about this and the problem was in the first batch of heads that went out mostly demos and the problem was fixed. Not sure how but that’s what I was told.

I’d definitely give them a call or take it back to where you got it and have them call. After 1 round (or even 10)...driver shouldn’t look like that.

Hit the M5 this past sunday while playing on the course.. Man I think this will be my gamer! didnt have a miss that went right, they all went high and left, (as a lefty) that's a miss I would be okay with most the time.

 

Got plans to visit Club Champion in a few weeks to get fitted, and I think the M5 will be a finalist just from what I saw on the course Sunday.

 

also hit the M5 3wood - I didnt like the Tensei that was with it, but wow the ball flew off the clubhead.

Just got my custom 9 degree m5 with ad gp7x shaft. I'm upset that the headweight is around 196 grams. I need to be around 201 with my shaft .75 less than stock.

 

Any talk of a weight kit? The m3 ones don't fit at all.

They’re both good. I hit the M5 and M6 recently, ordered an M5. M6 was very easy to hit, went higher and spun more. M5 is definitely smaller, but it feels great when it’s struck well. Got it out on the course today and loved it. Could shape it both ways, and could hit it really good off the tee if I tee it up a little high. I don’t wanna start a twist face debate, but I hit some low heel shots that ended up better than I thought they would off the face. I wasn’t a big fan of the Tensei Orange either, but I custom ordered it with the Tensei Blue which I’m a big fan of. I guess they have some left from last year, it’s not listed as an option this year in the pdf chart with all the options. M5 is going to be better off the tee than the M6. Haven’t seen anything about the D Type

Hopefully this hasn't been brought up, if so I will sift through the thread, but are there any lefties who have the m5? I want to get my hands on one but I cannot locate - wondering if the heads have just not been produced yet; there aren't even demo heads at any store I have been to.

 

If I custom order an m5 with a custom shaft (atmos blue TS for example) the earliest delivery date is April 15th - they may have backlog in the custom shop just can't figure out what is going on. Thanks

My order is in as of last night. Back ordered until March 9. Stock Tensei Orange X with M5 Tour 10.5 head. I can’t risk lower spin and launch with the custom PO at 60x. I’m already 1700 and 15 degrees with the regular m5 10.5 . I’ve go the m6 hybrid 19 arriving Friday with px black 6.5 , will report back on this.

I didn't care for the Tensei Orange either... ended up going with the HZRDUS Smokein my M5 fairway
