Ping Blueprint forged irons- New photos added page 27

I am praying they release these in spring but don't see that happening. I need new irons by spring and these are on top of list but, fall release puts them at the bottom. Damn you Ping!

 

I think you can wait a measly 2-3 extra months for a new set of irons. Play what you have...there's worse things in the world to worry about...

Man o man these things look so good. I could see what someone said above where they drill out a thin layer of it. That would allow to add some perimeter weighting, but keep the face thick enough so it still feels good. It's going to take a little bit, but soon they will get the feel right on these hollow irons and you won't be able to tell the difference between them and a real blade. You'll just get way more forgiveness. There are plenty of ways to improve it. Like not drilling out material over the sweet spot, but doing it on the heel and toe so there is some face flex there.

Fully in your corner with that statement. Toe screw threw me for a loop and I'm happily shocked it's a true forged club w/o the hollow cavity. These just became more seductive.

I'd imagine there is another weighting screw/cavity below hosel shaft bore. A la g700 and i500. Gives them two places to add or remove weight for SW purposes.

Haven’t been blade shopping on the bst have you ? Much harder to find. And most times when you do they look like hell. Faces worn out etc. exceptions sure. But not as easy as you think.

Bought plenty, just have to wait for the right set at the right price. I just stuck the Mizuno 919 tours in the bag last week, so I'll be in no hurry to grab a set.

I'm going to play only 7-LW next year so I don't care if they are a little unforgiving. Anybody with half a swing can play blades in the shorter irons.
