Yea, we really like the location and love the view. Great sunsets every night over the course. Their twilight pass is a good deal as well.

F the snow. I'm playing on Saturday regardless., Probably in ski pants with the temps but golf season is not over until WE say it's over.

 

Or Mother Nature dumps untold amounts on us, whichever comes first.

Saturday's forecast high of 38* - last time we tried that the range mats were covered in ice crystals at sunrise and it felt like we were hitting rocks.

best to prepare with four layers, two sleeves and a full flask.

Couldn’t be more happy to be headed to the Bay Area around mid-Nov and then straight to the Tampa/St. Pete for Thanksgiving week - I’ll be lugging the clubs from coast to coast (bay-to-bay?) with the expectation of getting in half a dozen rounds.

 

Hoping to hit Pasatiempo (+ a TBD) in CA, then a FL mix that should include Streamsong (Red, I hope), Innisbrook, Southern Dunes & World Woods. Still filling in the blanks but have some good recommendations from some FL WRXers.

Sounds like a great trip. I'd skip Innisbrook and play more than just Red at Streamsong instead. Black and Blue are way better than anything at Innisbrook and similar price. Enjoy the warmth.

The Copperhead course is worth playing, but you're right, I'd rank the other two Streamsong courses ahead of it.

Played Sanctuary today and had the place to myself. Honestly, the weather conditions weren't too bad, I think it was tougher a few Saturdays ago with the high winds. Sanctuary just punched their greens and they were in very rough shape. It was putt and hope you got the right bounces.

Not new, but you may be thinking about Legends Indoor Golf near 63rd & Belmont...it’s a pretty good spot. They’re only open in the off-season (open now) and have 7 hitting bays and a putting green. FWIW, they use Foresight GC2 (no HMT). They generally set the altitude to 1200 feet, which yields distance results in line with an 80* day in Chicago.

 

If you’re inclined, they also serve beer/wine, and they have a couple of food options like hot dogs and pizza.

 

The course list may not be quite as extensive as some other places, but it’s adequate. And they charge by the round, not by the hour...though their rates assume a certain pace of play.

I go to Mistwood dome a lot. First time I went this year the balls were awful, but I've gone twice since and they have new balls, I think they got complaints. It is the best simulator experience for me because you can still see your ball fly 75-100 yards. They have The Old Course, Pebble, Kiawah Island, Harbour Town, Spyglass and a few others.

Probably depends on where you're located.

 

I play the Terra Cotta Golf Academy sim all winter.

It's in Crystal Lake.

There'a a couple bars in that area too that have a more "rowdy" atmosphere.

Great afternoon walk at Springbrook. Absent water in a couple of low spots the course is in nice condition. Greens have been aerated with small tines, sanded and they rolled nicely. Hoping for 1 more Sunday round so I can avoid the S show of the Bears.

Following up from above, great day yesterday at The Glen. Little chilly to start off at 10am but slowly warmed up. First time I've played there and I was impressed with the layout. Very fair. Fairways were a little soggy with little to no roll as expected. Greens were soft but running at a fairly good speed. Myself and two buddies and Jim. Jim and Dennis vs. Pete and myself in a scotch game. We were down most of the day before I finally got a putt to drop on 16. Highlights was a 230 hybrid into the gale on 14 to 30' from the Jurassic Park on the left. Followed by lowlights of a missed 3 footer on 15th and close to holing out on 17 only to miss that short one too. But free drinks are good any day.

I've always enjoyed playing Maple Meadows, but it's no comparison to Oak Meadows, especially after their redesign to The Preserve. The Preserve might beat people up a little bit with the abundance of water, but it's generally a better layout and in better condition from my experience.
