Funny, they have lost 2 of the last 4 on home soil

Thanks for that! I presumed as much (Golf Channel) ... but was having some difficulty trying to find that info. Now, off to find the info for the UK and Europe!

Lizette Salas quietly has been the best American player over the last month; she's T3 at CP Women's, 2nd at Women's British and T13 at Evian.

She's the only LPGA player who's beaten Jin Young Ko in those tournaments.

Most impressively, she stared down Jin Young and beat her at Women's British.

She can be truly special; if she continues her solid track of greens and clutch putts.

She'll be the potent secret weapon of American crew.

I totally agree with you. She's gone under the radar while playing some terrific golf!!

Apparently the BBC will be doing some coverage of it in the UK. Not sure if it's live or highlights though.

I suspect from the Euro players persepctive she isn't a secret weapon or under the radar. She's a great player and also proving that you don't have to be a super youngster to play well on tour.

I can't understand how she actually accepted the invite, a true "team player" would have denied the invite, saying "Look, I really appreciate the offer, but my game is not where I prefer it to be for such an event, with all due respect choose another worthy player".

My view is based on Team based concept of college golf in which kupcho thrived.

Not sure it's much of a strategy to get in Pettersen's face at the start just to say "...AND, we're going to play by the RULES".

It also takes away any match play strategy of unpredictable concessions.

I'm not sure it wouldn't backfire, TBH.

Stacey is an odd choice, for sure.

I would have chosen Kupcho as well, and for the same reasons. She's shown she's very good since turning pro, and she was terrific as a team player and at match play. Would also be good to get her started as early as possible, she could become a key SC player for quite a while.

Probably best to remind Alison Lee that no one picks up 16' putts in stone cold silence during match play either.

A nice interview video with Azahara Munoz

Munoz was 'determined to be back' on European Solheim team

Also probably best to remind Suzann to not be an ass and walk off the green without making her intentions known to her opponent. Absolutely classless. And, yes, Alison messed up.

I'm hoping the whole putt that wasn't conceded doesn't overshadow any of the golf. There are some truly amazing players playing this year and although the USA are a much stronger team on paper I suspect Europe may put up more of a fight than expected. I do think the USA will dominate in the Singles however to secure a "comfy" victory.

This is an interesting development; nothing to lose for Ally McDonald or Juli Inkster.
