I am not. Everything I have tested from PXG has been good, solid, but not "blown away". For the price there are far better options out there.

Interesting notes. I have two close friends (both very good players, low single digits) that were playing the Epic Flash (neither with stock shafts), one with a SS of 105+ who switched back to his old faithful TM R9 and the other with a SS of 95 switched to a TM M6 with a Ventus shaft. Both found more consistency and in the case of the M6, he found more control and a few more yards to boot. To each his own.

In the bag: Playing --- TaylorMade  Qi 10 (core) driver w/Fujikura Ventus Blue 6S. 3wd TM (OG) SIM (special smaller tour only head, same that TW was playing prior to the '24 Genesis approx 160cc) @ 15.*) with Fujikura Ventus 7-S.  5 wd TM SIM w/Fujikura Speeder 857TR-S (Japan made)

2019 has allowed me to bit a self appointed aficionado on this matter. I've been through 3 fitting with different fitters and have demo'd the F9, G400 Max, 410+, and M5/6. None of them are as far as Epic Flash. I actually performed better with my 400 Max over the 410 (same shaft). The F9 performed almost identical to the Max. Currently Epic is in the bag and my only issue is that the left side of the course comes into play a little more with the EF than the others.

On center hits no. Its better, but not leaps and bounds. I think that were the flash shines the most is away from center.

My Ping G400 MAX was super forgiving, but my Epic Flash blows by it.

The Epic Flash with the Tensi Blue is a monster. I did remove the Tensi Blue AV shaft and replaced it with the Tensi Blue CK and it is a bomber for me.

Especially toe side misses... I still happen to think EFSZ is slightly better than GBB Epic SZ on center strikes too, but no objective feedback.

Hi,

I get accused by my golfing mates that I must be a Callaway staffer as I seem to purchase most Callaway better players clubs for the last 25years. ;)

I've tried iron sets from Mizuno, Srixon, Cobra etc. but always come back to Callaway, still using my 2014 Apex Forged irons even though I purchased, then promptly sold Apex Forged CF16, Rogue Pro CF18 and Apex Forged Combo CF19, nothing better than my 2014 Apex Forged, must be that I don't like cupface technology in iron sets.

Anyway, back to your question.

I was using the standard Epic, then decided to purchase the Epic SZ then followed with the Rogue SZ. I eventually worked out that because I have a subtle fade mainly with my driver, SZ drivers tended to make it worse especially into the wind or with a left to right wind so I went back to the standard Epic and my ball flight was much mor controllable.

Recently Callaway had a fitting day at my local golf club so I decided I miht as well go, not really expecting to buy.

I must say I was immediately impressed with the Epic Flash with TT PX HZRDUS Smoke Black shaft, ball flight was straight and penetrating and disperson was much better than the standard Epic with Oban Devotion shaft.

I tried the Epic Flash SZ with the same Smoke but it didn't perform as well as Epic Flash.

I found the Rogue SZ to be fairly forgiving but I'm now hitting just about every fairway with the Epic Flash with Smoke and quite long, starting to keep up with my longer hitting golfing buddies, especially into the wind or cross wind.

Very impressed.

Cheerz :) :D ;)

> How does the Epic Flash compare to the Rogue? I currently hit the Rogue with HZRDUS Smoke 6.0 60g. I also own the original Epic, but found the Rogue to be more forgiving on toe strikes. I have become a huge fan on Callaway woods.

Makes sense. My driver club fitting came down to the Epic Flash and Epic Flash SubZero. Got better results with the Epic Flash and went with it. Very happy with the Epic Flash. Continues to perform well on the course.

+1 I guess I need to look a little more but I'm thinking one of these two would be a good fit for me. Yes, I should go get fit, but after spending $$ on that 5 years ago and having a less than perfect result, I'm leaning more towards trial and error method.

Has anyone hit these side by side and compared figures? I'm assuming most would find the G410 more forgiving and the EF slightly longer...

Not sure how this is a news thread. Seems more like an equipment or general

Golf talk thread but I digress.

When it comes to the total package between looks, distance, forgiveness and feel, in my mind, nothing can really top these:

The Cobra F9 - hands down the best mix of all.

The M5 / M6 - these can be made into the same driver with moving the weights in the back (the m5 into and m6 and not the vice verse). Also my gamer.

Epic / Epic Flash - Again. The total package can’t be ignored but, I didn’t care for the looks in general.

Titleist TS2/3: these just work. Stock shaft of evenflow white is a deadly combo.

Other notables:

Mizuno ST - nice driver but didn’t work for me

Srixon - nice looks but didn’t have much else in it for me

Ping G410 - again a decent driver but didn’t really change much of anything from the 400

Again, all of these drivers, paired with the right shaft that’s fitted for you equals you hitting bombs like Lefty. That’s why these threads don’t make any sense
