Pros: The sheer range of models, the Anser 5 inclusion.

Cons: The fact that even on these (presumably) demo models, there are already marks to the matt black soles on some of them. They are also reminiscent of the Specify 2-piece line, which aged quickly, looked cheap, and were poorly made.

If the PLD rumours for later this year are true, and an in-person fitting is a requirement, I'll need to start looking at flights from Scotland to Phoenix, AZ....

Yeah...loved the look and alignment, couldn't get comfortable on speed with the face...this sounds cool.

Edit: just read further. $1000 US? Maybe Prince Harry can afford to get one now he won't be doing Royal duties and will have more time on his hands, but not in my world.

It looks to me like the blades aren't multi-material. The gold and black are just the finish/paint. On the mallets there's a clear gap between the gold and black, but the blades have no such gap.

Grooves are the worst thing to have happened to putters. Golfers loose feel comes off dead. I want to feel the hit. Love me current grooveless putter

I think people are misunderstanding price. $1000 is for a full on putter fitting at ping with custom build putter of choice. Regular pricing was cited as slightly more than Sigma 2 line...

So Ping goes from saying Grooves/face tech is the best thing for golfers to now.... a totally flat machined face?

Probably had something to do with most of their staffers playing PLD putters with a smooth face.

It's weird though because I think the grooves do legit. work. The TR grooves worked and so do grooves like EVNROLL. As far as I can tell, the pro's can get away with the flat faces because they strike their putts much better than most of us do. Could also be they prefer the feel without grooves, kind of like how a lot of pro's have the old white hot insert in their new odyssey putter body/frames.
