I had a sec of mp20s mmc and mob with c taper, Honmas were actually softer, liked the feel better than the mizunos. Would love to pick up a set or tr20 blades as wel

very interesting to hear that the honmas are softer than the mizunos....great looking clubs indeed, a bit of old and new honma branding/design...enjoy them...i use a honma tw 747 455 driver and a tw 727 22* hybrid and they are mainstays, solid and very high quality clubs...

WITB 2021, have not totally figured out the woods/hybrid as of yet. Still lots to figure out at the top end.

Driver:

PING G410 Plus 10.5 set @ 9

Graphite Design Tour Ad IZ 6 XStiff

Fairways:

Still deciding but leaning Mavrik....

TaylorMade SIM Max 3 wood @ 15

Project X Evenflow Riptide 70 6.0

Or

Callaway Mavrik 4 wood @ 16.5

Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 70 Stiff

- Cannot say it enough. Callaway’s Pre Owned site for clubs at a discount is incredible. Perfect condition stock $140 fairway wood and it’s about to knock off a SIM Max 3 I was fitted for.

Hybrid:

PING G410 19 set 1 degree flat

Stock Alta CB 70 Red stiff

- Thinking of switching out the shaft for better dispersion, but I absolutely love this club. Favorite in the bag. Gets me out of a lot of trouble.

Irons:

Titleist T100 4-PW, all 2 flat

KBS $-Taper S+ 125

Wedges:

Titleist Vokey SM8 Jet Black

50 12F, 54 12D, 58 08M, all 2 flat

SC Pistolini grip

Ball:

Titleist Pro V1x

Grips:

Golf Pride MCC +4 woods and irons

Golf Pride Tour Velvet on wedges

Bag:

Ping Hoofer

Driver, fairways, hybrid, bag all up for debate. Will update with pics as soon as it’s set for 2021.

Hi WRX, first post!

Anyways, as things are right now...

Ping G410LST 8*- AD-TP 60TX / HZRDUS Black HC 62g 6.5

TM M3 15,5* - HZRDUS Black 75g 6.0 (tipped)

Ping G410 19*Hy - Ping Tour 85X

Ping i25 22*Hy - Fujikura MCH80

Ping S55 5-PW - PX6 Flighted

Ping Glide 2 49* & 53* - PX6

Ping Glide 3 58* - PX6

Ping PLD Prime Tyne 34"

Pro V1x

Still a couple of months until first tournaments so some things will definitely change for 2021. Few weeks ago I finally cracked the last (of ~5) G400LST head I`ve been playing for ages. That was truly a great driver. Honestly not really liking the 410 as much.

Next few weeks I`ll be like a kid in a candy shop playing around with the new 425`s, LST driver and 19* hybrid will probably go almost straight to bag. Also interested to see if the 425 3W could finally knock out the only non-ping club in the bag. We`ll see...

I’ve completely flipped my whole bag since my original WITB submission, so figured it would be easier to do a new submission than to keep editing the original one.

I’ve sold 29 clubs in the last 7-8 months, and learned a ton about equipment through WRX and other research. This bag now reflects the player I want to become and the progress I am making.

Was down to a 6.0 Handicap at the end of last season, and my goal is to be a scratch guy (or as close to it as possible) by the end of 2021. Here’s the bag I think can help take me there!

Edit: Got a new bag, added a Hybrid to go head-to-head w/ my Driving Iron or switch in & out, and added another Zipcore to go 50-54-58 and make it easier to get my wedges fully dialed in this season...can’t wait for Spring!!

So far I'm really enjoying the C-Tapers, and the new driver (my first adjustable driver) has been incredible!   Not sure why I shunned the new tech for so long.

Well, I've made a few big changes to the bag for the upcoming 2021 season. I'm replacing my Ping G15 driver with a new Taylormade SIM Max 12* driver. I've replaced the Callaway Great Big Bertha Hawkeye 3 & 5 woods with the new Adams Golf Tight Lies 3 & 5 woods. I've removed the Cleveland RTX-3 VMG 56* wedge and in its place I've added a new Taylormade Milled Steel 56* wedge. This year I'll pull my tried & trusted 2004 Odyssey White Steel CS 2 ball putter to make room for a new Odyssey White Hot CS 2 ball putter that I bought last year but never put it to use. Looking forward to another great season on the course.

What’s in the bag of a 34 year old 0.6 handicap:

I’m coming off a successful 2020 with qualifying and playing in the Missouri Amateur being checked off my bucket list. Working full time and being a single Dad (also a 2020 change 😂) didn’t leave much time for golf after that. After looking at all of my stats from last year, it was clear that GIR would have to get better if I wanted to compete more with top level armateurs in my state. Pure and simple, I’m not a great iron player. Driver and short game are my strengths, but I need more high percentage looks at birdie. This years bag didn’t change a ton from last year, but I did add some forgiveness where it hopefully counts.  Enjoy!

Driver with 113-116 mph swing speed: PING G400 LST 8.5 with a Fujikura Rombax Type X.
I put this up against every driver at a fitting today using Trackman. Nothing beat it. I even went so far as to get a brand new identical shaft to use for the fitting and neither the G425 (LST & Max) or Sim2 could keep up on Trackman. In the words of my club builder “Don’t ever sell that head”. It’s stupid hot off the face, and he had no explanation as to why my particular head is so hot. I’m not going to complain about saving $500+ this year, so it will remain in play going into its 5th season. Just praying it doesn’t crack at this point!  It does receive a new grip for the year with the teams edition (49er colorway) with 3 wraps on the bottom and 2 on top.

3wd: PING G410 LST 14.5 with a Diamana Limited Edition 70TX. Perfect 250 - 270yd club off the deck or off the tee.  It does receive a new grip for the year with the teams edition (49er colorway) with 3 wraps on the bottom and 2 on top.

5wd: PING G410 playing at 19.5 with a Diamana Limited Edition 80TX. This is my go to when a fairway is needed.  Very versatile and can be hit anywhere from 225-245yds. Another one that is easy to play off the deck or on the tee. It does receive a new grip for the year with the teams edition (49er colorway) with 3 wraps on the bottom and 2 on top.

Irons: New to the bag this year is the PING i210 4-UW paired with Project X 6.0 black shafts. I wanted a touch more forgiveness (coming from iBlades) as GIR was my lowest stat by far in 2020 (as previously mentioned). Freshly gripped with the new NDMC Teams edition (49er colorway) with 3 wraps on the bottom and 2 on top.

Wedges: As I always do, I’m back to Vokeys. I used the Glide forged line last year and just never really found good touch. I paired the 56 (bent to 55*) and 60 with Tour Issue s400 Onyx shafts. I’ve just always liked the heavier feel to smooth out touch shots. These also get the new NDMC Teams edition (49er colorway) with 3 wraps on the bottom and 2 on top.

Putter(s): This slot is up for grabs at the moment between 3-4 different sticks, but here’s the main two:

- Scotty Cameron T22 Fastback 1.5 paired with a Stability Tour shaft and playing at 35” and Superstroke 1.0PT

- Piretti Tour 801 GSS paired with the LAGP TPZ One35 playing at 34” and Superstroke 1.0PT

Both feel great off the face, but going to be testing consistency of both over the next few months before tournament season. Fitting said flowneck is best for my alignment, but I’ve always been and anser style guy, so we shall see

Bag: PING Tour Hoofer. Gamed it all last season and still looks new. Absolutely the best bag in the market, and the best PING has put out in years.

Go Niners!

I used to do the WITB more often here.  It's been a REALLY long time.  Maybe more than 10 years and I, unfortunately have only 1 year where I played more than 20 rounds in a year since then.  I'm gonna play more... a lot more in the coming years as I'm turning 48 this year and want to have a damn good birthday week at Bandon when I turn 50.  My goal is sub 5 handicap by then.  I have still been mostly playing i3 blades and TM 300s.  But I want to convert to "legal grooves" so I just picked up my first new set of irons in maybe 15 years.  The i210's... so here's my current WITB.

Driver: TaylorMade M4 (10.5 degrees turned a bit to "lower" as I like a slightly open face at address)
Shaft: Ozik Matrix 80M Black Tie X @ 44.5"

3-wood: TaylorMade R9 paintbreak TI (15 degrees)
Shaft: Tipped Ozik Matrix 80M Black Tie X

5-wood: Tour Edge Exotics "ladies edition" (18 degrees)
Shaft: Tipped OG Aerotech SS85 X

Irons: Ping i210 (3-9i)
Shafts: KBS Tour 130X

Wedges: Ping Glide 3.0 46 @ 47*, 54 @ 53*
Shafts: KBS Tour 130X

Callaway PM grind 60*, shaft TBD

(note - this is cold weather setup.  I plan to drop the 3 wood and add my 2019 PM grind 58* and 64* with S400 when it warms up and I need it.

Putter: Scotty Cameron JAT, TaylorMade Ghost Marenello 355g, both at 34".  The JAT is somewhere else and due to Covid I haven't been able to get it, but as soon as I can, I'll put it into play.
Grip: stock pistol

Golf Ball: I love the Callaway HX balls in the wind, but will play most any premium urethane ball that is on sale.

Grips: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord BCT midsize with 2x extra tape.

I can take pictures of the shafts, etc if you decide to feature it.B.JPG.951b1dc21b0d19599a5eed09a0b35e13.JPG
