Okemo, VT yesterday.  also...  Downhill Par 3 crossover post!

I have mixed feeling about fall golf. On the one hand, the weather is great and it's very colorful, on the other hand it portends the coming of winter.

Today could not be beat for the perfect weather. It was 69* today, and the wind was clam, just the right amount of breeze. We played after work and got 12 holes in. Fall golf has always been my favori

this is without a doubt my favorite time of year.  Colours in the trees, golden hue on everything, long shadows, warm but not hot days and cool evenings.

The last 2 years we didn't get any fall golf where I live.  We went straight from summer to winter.  It was really weird and a huge bummer.

Love the little bite in the breeze, wearing a sweater, taking hot chocolate in my thermos instead of iced tea, but honesty I'd rather play 18-27 after work almost every day vs. the few evenings nice enough to get in what daylight allows.  My attention turns to my dog and warmer clothing and stalking pheasants, which we love and golf just sort of fades out.  Crappy weather this weekend, a respite next week - so guessing I'll play my last rounds within the next 10 days or so.

Now I'm kind of depressed about fall golf (didn't stop me from ordering a new hybrid and planning to drop one more iron, lol).

I'm with you. Great to golf because its so pretty and the course traffic is significantly lower. The sad part is that the dread of winter is right around the corner

Agree. When I woke up it was 42 degrees, but I wore shorts (and a long sleeve windshirt) for my 8:30 tee time. By the time we were on the 5th hole, the windshirt was gone and it was around 60 degrees. Having the sun shining makes all the difference. And the leaves changing makes for some nice views, but also more lost golf balls when they fall from those views!

I love the weather. The course isn't crowded, people are hunting and attending ball games.

Sadly, the leaves hide a lot of balls.

I completely agree.  I have lost so many balls due to leaves.  I love the season, but rue the search.  A perfectly great drive down the center of the fairway can be lost because of leaves.  No greenskeeper can prevent that.

Such is life, such is golf.

C'est la vie

Our grounds crew has a giant leaf blower behind the Kubotu tractor and voila, no more leaves. They are out there every day performing leaf control.
