Tough to say without seeing what Taylormade and Callaway have to offer. I think TSi2 is the leader in the clubhouse right now.

I would love to put one of these in my bag but the lie angles on Cobra woods are so upright. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think their adapter allows for flatter lie angles?

no they don't.  ping has the flatter lie option.  you can purchase a callaway flat lie adapter for the driver.

The past few cobra fairway woods have looked great but lacked a little in performance. They were good not great. Hopefully they have that fixed this year and it will be a bit more complete package.

Callaway has had the hottest fairway woods the last few years. The Cobra F8 and F9 came really close but lacked some pop. If they tweaked the faced a little bit I could definitely see Cobra having the best fairways this year.

I think you're absolutely correct.   I gamed the Speedzone fairway this summer/fall.   It wasn't bad, but I could never get the performance I had from my Epic Flash.

I’m currently testing the sz big tour and it is a rocket launcher!  Been playing the ts3 fairway for the past couple of seasons and I love it.  It’s pretty hot for a 3 wood and is effortless to get good distance off of the tee.  But the sz big tour has a better feel to me.  More solid and dense feeling.  Easy to launch as well.

However, I am very intrigued with the RAD fairway.  They look fantastic.  From the review on TXG, it seems to not sit as closed on standard setting.  Will have to see it in person.  They definitely have my attention.

I have no idea how they can make the SZ Big Tour better. Its the perfect 3 wood off the tee. I don't need a hotter fairway wood either. It should go a set distance, be easy to hit, and have a dispersion smaller than my driver. The only way I upgrade is if the misses are significantly smaller with the Rad, or I really dig the new finish.

If you don't have any idea why, would you really put money on it? 🤔😉

Yes? But I'm not a smart man. I'm not even sure what I'd be putting money on! How do we determine the sleeper hit of fairway woods? But I'm still willing to put money on it 🤑

Maybe a better way to say it is: of all the fairway woods that I've seen information on, I'm personally most interested in the Srixon, followed by the Cobra... and both have fixed hosel hybrids, so I might have to upgrade my bag.

Anyone else thinking this is the one to beat in '21?

Sorry to quote you but, no. No one in their right mind on this forum or in the general public thinks Cobra will have the best fairway woods this(or any) year. Will it be good? Sure.

Now I root for Cobra, and they have had great woods over the years. To claim this early that they have anything to beat is foolish. The two top players have yet to release images of their woods, let alone let them out to test. Hell, Callaway could put new colors on the 3 year old Epic Flash and have the best fairway this year.

Honestly Callaway and Taylormade fairways are over-rated

Inertia is a strong force...just look at the way you look at it without even trying them

srixon or cobra are going to have a shocker fairway this year is my bet

the lemmings will tell us how good epic and sim2 fairways are, but they are at limits and others are going to catch up and have an edge any year now

cheers

I’m in my right mind and have had cobra beat out everyone else in the fairway category before. That’s the beauty of having options.

I agree. They make very underrated woods as a whole. I just meant no one walking casually through PGASS is going to assume Cobra has the best fairways on the market.

Call me strange, but I don't care if a 3 wood is "hot." My F9 Tour goes exactly where I want it.

I'll have the 3 and 5 in the bag for 2021.

We are out there. Maybe a minority but we exist. Not everyone sees through the marketing of other brands to even consider trying a company with less market share. It’s all so subjective as to what the ‘best’ is. But I can agree that most people browsing the store would believe other brands make a better product based on tour usage and marketing. Is it true though? I don’t think so. Either way, I’m sure this new model will be another great option for this year.

Rick Shiels, why are you on the forums? Shouldn't you be editing a video?
