Best Feeling and Forgiving Player’s Irons?

I really liked the JPX Tours, looked awesome, felt super soft...but MMC's were just that much better on off center hits.

MMC's checked all the boxes for me. Not quite as soft as the JPX, but quite amazing to hit.

I’m constantly on here singing paise to the srixon Z7 series. I switched from MP64s a year and a half ago and the srixons have the classic players shape, feel fantastic and are very, very forgiving for an iron in their category not changing out of my z785s anytime soon

I’ve never hit anything as well as my T100S, but am curious about the sole on the ZX7 once I can demo them outside. Hit them inside off a mat and they felt great. I had the MP20 MMC and they just didn’t work for me.

Short list:

T100/T100S

ZX7

Very forgiving, and easy to hit through the long irons. They are cast, but honestly feel better than anything else I’ve hit in the past several years outside of the MP18 blades.  Some people raise a stink about the offset progression, but it’s hardly noticeable after a round or two in my opinion.  Forgiving enough for a mid capper to play but precise enough to continue to rack up wins on professional tours every month.

Always love “player’s irons”.  Players make the irons not vise versa.
not a player any more but still ok.  Round a two.  My irons that feel great and perform for me are ping g710.   If you hit them coming from a blade you’re guaranteed to have heel side strikes for two three weeks and you will hate that sound yet marvel that your ball is on the green.  But once you start to find the center the sound and feel are really quite nice to my ears and hands.   So if feel is something that informs you of your strike the pings are right up there.

top 3 in order for me are zx7>t100s>mp20mmc.  Just switched to zx7 and it has the best feel and forgiveness IMO.  Only thing i prefer the other two over is the top line thickness, but wouldn't trade the other pros.

I’m still gaming Callaway X Forged from 2017-18, such a great feeling iron. I would definitely take a long look at Srixon ZX 7, Mizuno mp20 mmc are good as well. Apex pro will offer more forgiveness and built in tech, but they don’t feel as good as it sounds like you are looking for.

The 2018 X Forged is going to look better and better as time goes by! Nice feeling irons.

Haven’t found anything that feels as good, not that I’m really looking to replace them. My only complaint is the offset on the higher ofter irons; 8,9 iron, and pitching wedge. Clean looking irons as well.

That’s what I was thinking. I’ve got a set of 4 yo i200s, and while they do everything I ask of them and forgive me when I don’t flush them, the Srixon’s and T-100s continue to the be the hot girls at the bar!

Thank goodness my i200s while maybe not as hot and sexy as the Z7/T-100s, they’re  forgiving and do exactly what’s asked of them...isn’t that what we want out of a spouse?

I play between a 6 & 8 hdcp & love the Titleist T100 irons. I gamed the same TM MC for a while then the 2016 Apex Pro for a long time. T100 are really great fit for me - very forgiving, even on my toe misses, and they get the ball up in the air with really great feel. Take the time to get the right shaft for your swing & I think they’re as good as it gets for a players iron.  Nice & thin top line too

I have the same 2011 TP MC 5,6,7/MB 8,9,P combo and now play 716 AP2s seeking the more forgiveness. Regret it big time. Turf interaction is wildly different. I should have gone Cobra Forged CB/MB. Slightly more forgiving, feel great and really similar look at address. I also love the black finish on the cobras.

If I had more time to play, the Srixon ZX7 or the previous Z785 or Z745 are hard to beat in terms of playing as good as they look.  I just need a little more forgiveness than those wands offer.  Might tinker with the Ping i210s this spring.
