Rules officials said they had no issues with him regarding this item. END OF STORY! We should be talking about how PReed is going to win a lot this year if his swing changes hold up like they did yesterday. His short game is outstanding and when he doesn't have to scramble, he'll use it to his advantage. The rest of the PGA Tour players should work as hard as he does and beat him instead of melt under pressure i.e. Rory on Sundays. Can't wait for another Major win and the meltdown on this site. Haters gonna hate and Players gonna play!

That is not bias, it is drawing a conclusion on the circumstances which have previously presented themselves.

If both are vindicated by the evidence, they both walk free. Past history will only be relative to punishment should the accused be found guilty of a crime, or in this case, breaking a rule.

Sentencing and conviction fall under two very different sets of rules.  Reed was exonerated from any wrong doing therefore there is no sentencing.

I’d care what Spieth thinks. If not for the good run of a couple years, he would be on the hooters, korn ferry, Nike tour. Every teammate interviewed said they would play with him any day. They may all talk trash behind his back, but he lays it to them on the course every week.

i’m operating on the basis that they were both in the wrong. In my Court the are both convicted.

I get it. But not really an apples to apples comparison. Both were found to be operating within the rules. What's happening now is that emotions are being used to pass judgement, which shouldn't be the case being that the rules in this particular matter validate both their actions.

I totally accept that although my view is that the emotions are being used to decide that Reed was wrong and Rory was not. Operating on the basis that they were both in the wrong which is what I genuinely believe should have been the conclusion that the Tour came to, there are genuine reasons as to why they would then be treated differently.

The guy on GC said hundreds of people took these drops without calling an official

 

They were *all doing the same thing and just calling drops on any full shot that landed in the rough.

I know when I have played big am events it would be very uncomfortable to do this without and official or playing competitor standing there with me

I often ride in carts in mid-am events

 

If I hit a drive that is anywhere near going towards trouble I get a guy to hop on with me so there is no issue with a found ball or good lie,,,,,,, its the proper thing to do

 

Just strange to me as I want to go out of the way to leave no question of monkey biz or shenanigans ... i think going forward he should adopt the same mentality

I read you as saying same as me.  Just justifying it as a pass vs bias. We shouldn’t give passes if rules are broken. Thankfully neither broke any rules.
