@YetiOne did you try the newport as well to see if there is a difference between that and the newport 2? Curious to see everyone's thoughts between the newport or newport 2 as I'm considering paying resell on just one of them....

Not yet, I only have the NP2 in hand at this point. Probably won’t have both side by side till next week…

They both feel like butter but I would say out of these two the np2 feels a touch more firm. If all you hit was the np2 you would never think it felt firm unless you hit em side by side. But to me the flowback is the most firm feeling of the bunch. I've noticed on mine and a couple pics online the insert is a little more smooth than the np's. I'll post some pics in a bit

Kinda tough to see in pics but can def be felt by running my finger over the insert that the flowback is almost smooth. It's all good with me as I've been gaming a piretti goat recently so it's a welcome error.

I’ve only had one round with it but I really enjoy it so far. This is also my first Newport and I like the look at address. Feel is not too soft and not too firm.

Agree, everyone that’s used it seems to like how it rolls so it’s got me really curious. It’s going in the bag ASAP if I get it. Still just amazed at all the flippers that got these already.

Just got a cancellation email from Dick's.

I had called this morning to try and get a shipping status, looks like that was a mistake. An "escalation specialist" was getting with the fulfillment center and was supposed to get back with me. Never heard anything back, then got a cancelation email out of nowhere. I had a Newport 2 on order with Dick's and Newport through Puetz. I received my Newport from Puetz, so fortunate I got one at least. I had intentions of keeping both. I love my Newport. Oh well

He’s probably referring to the fact that GG took pre orders and then sent putters to their stores to sell prior to filling the pre orders.

It's more on how they havent been able to give a straight answer! I don't mind the hold up on shipping in today's world of logistics, I just wanted at least some heads up on why/when to expect them especially after ordering so early in the process. Considering I was given about 5 plus different answers and ship dates from the CS team.

I will say this to those still waiting. DO NOT CALL. I shouldn't have called, huge mistake. Apparently the escalation specialist cancelled the order when she realized there wasn't any just sitting in the warehouse. I've been sent a step higher up the ladder, but I have very little expectation that they'll be able to correct it. I've already essentially lost my place in line. Then again, I honestly am not sure Dick's will end up fulfilling any of these pre-orders.

I do wonder what is going to happen with all these Dicks/GG orders?

surely they will be able to fulfill some orders?

evidently the link to order some NP2s was open this AM again.  How crazy would it be if they actually fulfilled those orders?

The link to order NP 35 inch was open on DSG as well. Not sure if that was an IT error or legit.

update - just received the Newport - rolling it side by side with the Newport 2 I can confirm the previous user’s findings, I also found the NP to be softer (or quieter) than the NP2. I would attribute this to the thicker top line? Not a big difference, but unmistakably softer.

Yep. Np2 in general are usually thinner.  same in ping anser2  vs anser as well. I prefer that. The thinner the better.  Paper thin even. Get that nice click sound in the sweet spot.

GG canceled my order, I called AFTER I got the cancellation to confirm that it wasn’t just because they didn’t have it sitting in the warehouse and the guy said they weren’t getting anymore of these. Whether he knew what he was talking about or not I don’t know but I could almost hear his eyes roll when he realized what my order was for. I’m sure I’m not the first call he’s had about these putters.

RIP - my condolences...

I would call customer service again and complain. I got a $20 GC once when they canceled one of the Nike Air Jordan orders.

Not surprised to see this happening. I dont think they factored pre order and what was actual store inventory I also don't think it live updates what sold and what's remains if that makes since. Kinda like the bay when it tells you 5 available or last one.
