Anybody gaming this noticed the flange (or anywhere else on the head) picking up marks/small bag chatter like dings? First time on the putting green (still slightly sandy from second aeration), picked up a few balls with the back of the putter and noticed several small imperfections that looked like minor bag chatter. Yea yea yea, tools not jewels, just never had a Scotty show wear marks like that immediately. 

 

Traveled over labor day weekend, smooth 68 during the second round with it. Loving the feel 👍

First thing I did was sell the headcover to a friend. I’m currently using a generic magnetic one.

I received an email last week from the General Manager.  This update said their allotment of putters was in transit from Titleist to their distribution center last week.  They intended to start shipping them early this week to buyers.  I'm hoping to see a tracking number soon.

And I just got a second update.  Most of the putters are sitting in a FedEx distribution center.  They escalated with Titleist who pushed FedEx.  New date of delivery to 2nd Swing is now Friday 9/10.  I've waited this long.  A few more days won't matter.

Wanted to like mine but it’s on the shelf and white hot OG 7S is back. It’s just more forgiving and I get better distance control. And I think I like my studio select with superstroke better.  I think it has a more consistent and non clicky feel.

 

I’m planning to keep it and give it another go at some point.

I went back to the BST archived on The Cameron Collector when I was looking to get an original Button Back back in 2011. $500-$600 for nice Button Back NP2s. I'm a dummy for passing then.

Just got a LAGP 135 to put in my NP2. Still need to decide on grip. I haven’t even tried mine yet waiting to see if someone comes along wanting to trade a 34 or ideally a 33 for a 35. Now that I’m going to reshaft it doesn’t matter.

I've looked but can't seem to find the specs for head weight.  Does anyone know the head weight with the 30g or 35g weights?

My Newport was 355 grams with the 35 gram weights. Weights were right on the money at 70 grams together. So 30 gram weights would equal 345 grams.

I’m not a fan of the grey grip on it, feels a little too big.

I’ve reshafted mine to play at 36” and fitted a red pistolini grip, it feels much better now.

My Newport arrived from 2nd Swing on Saturday.  I pulled the head this morning since I had to settle for a 35".  For those interested, my head with the weights came in at 344g.  I do not have a weight tool to remove and check the accuracy of those weights.  I may get one at some point so I can add 3 grams under each to get it to 350. I'll be re-shafting to 34" later today.

I literally passed on $800 button backs on eBay 2 years ago, kicking myself now. Every time a flipper sells a putter on their site the next one gets listed at $500 more… In most CT cases they are used too. I literally took a loss on a couple that I sold last year. Sad, if I had only waited this market would have buoyed the prices.  Now I just don’t buy, only safe way.

That is a long time ago. I think the OG BB has been $800+ since 2013 (that’s when I got into Scotty). Then Brooks and 4 major happened. LOL.

Don’t feel bad.  I sold my BNIB NP2 BB for $2100 2 years ago and just bought the same putter again for $2500🤦‍♂️

It was a long time ago, but it was when I was considering buying one or getting a OTR model and sending it to the Scotty Cameron Custom Shop to get it completely customized. Guess what I did?
