this is ridiculous. I actually want to game one and not flip it. tried all day to try to secure one with no luck.

These threads always take this turn, I walked away from my second putter and gave it to the next guy on the list. Taking one and might game it, but otherwise it will go in my collection.  4000 pieces means most people will not get this putter, so that’s why the secondary market is so high. If this offends you don’t even bother looking at the CT secondary market… it’s just a scarce resource with more demand than he chooses to fulfill. This type of release has been going on for years, but all of sudden people care they can’t get one. Before social media people were blissfully ignorant and the the collectors marker for Scotty was affordable (relative to today). If anything the Scotty “limited” market has been easier to get than ever, with 6000-8000 piece releases of the T22 and CC… JT putter was prevalent as well now that I think about.
 

someone might as well start an “I didn’t get a Scotty my girl 2021”complaint thread… most head pros can’t even get one of those, so we don’t stand a chance. Literally any big box store can get you this model if you knew when to ask.

Indeed. In the high end/limited release sneaker world these days, people set up ‘bots’ to buy up all the shoes within minutes of the online drop (release) and sell at huge profit. So the guy that just wants a pair to wear and enjoy gets screwed by someone’s greed. It’s a huge problem. Mostly Nike and Adidas. These people with the bots are so confident their computer program will “win” them several pairs, they post them for sale for ~4x retail before the shoe is even released.

theres plenty of cameron bots as well that people use. Its fairly common.

I don't think it is "all of a sudden people care," as much as it is "all of a sudden people know."  Scotty and Titleist tweet--to their combined 500,000+ followers--arguably the sexiest mallet they have released, tell everyone its available in two weeks, but in reality its already sold-out worldwide, probably even before they pushed "Tweet."  I mean, at least give people a chance against some bots, haha.

 

I do think this putter rules, and I hope all 4,000 are eventually gamed at some point.

If all are sold before official release there's no need for bots that purchase as soon as it goes live for sale.

I totally agree with that take, the advertising takes place after it’s sold.

I'm expecting mine to arrive at my club on Friday.. but with covid delays I wouldn't be surprised if it came in on Tuesday. lol

Annoyed Titleist will not bend the limited releases.  Will have to handle that in addition to a little grip change.  Not a resale ploy, definitely hoping to game it.

Just rolled mine today. Great feel and distance control. Sets up very nice and square. It’s going in the bag.

Got mine today but will probably sell it because $1500 is $1500. I can buy a new putter and still make money. No brainer to me.

So the local Roger Dunn guy said he can get it for me from the other store. However he told me the retail was $1299. I know it’s $750 so it may be an honest mistake but he said he’s going to try and track down the 35” and the 34” if someone else buys it. 
 

I’m hoping he just made an honest mistake, but gonna he disappointed if he tells me it’s $1299.
