What is the best Adams Hybrid of all time?

Was cleaning out the club room and found some old adams hybrids. Arguably adams made some of the best. What are some opinions on the best ones made?

Hands down, the original Idea Pro Hybrid that started it all.  Langer still had at least one in his bag thru 2021 season.

Whilst it’d be easy for me to echo the “original Idea Pro” sentiments...

the titanium XTD (circa 2013/2014?) was Super-hot!

@Valtielwouldn’t the Callaway Apex (or Apex Pro?) hybrids be the natural successors to Adams...given the number of Adams Engineers who moved to callaway to join Chip Brewer post-TM acquisition?
 

but agree with you that the GAPR looks like it has some Adams DNA...

What he said, still have the 2-3 and 4 Idea Pro A12's. Will alternate them with the PXG's every so often.

I had a super Ls and a super S, both were absolute bombers. The super s was really long the only downfall was the size was more like a fairway wood.

I echo that the original Idea Pro is the best. I tried them at a demo day and bought them the next day. I have also had the titanium XTD’s and they were very good.

 

I have recently put the originals back in the bag and they are very good from just about any lie.

I have 5 of the Idea Pros (3 tour issue, 2 retail), one of the "boxer" hybrids (only kept because its my only hole in one club), and what I call my sweetums (9031 23*) and most of them find their way back into the bag off and on throughout the year.  While they don't have the technology the more current ones do, they just perform.

I have a 15* Super S 1 hybrid that I basically treated as the mini driver equivalent to a 3 wood when I was learning how to hit one off the deck.  It was the first club I ever hit that made me think birdies could be in play on par 5s.  It was the first club I ever hit that made me realize I didn't have to necessarily take driver every time off the tee.  It really helped me figure out what I wanted in a fairway wood, which is basically a 3-4 wood loft with a 5-7 wood length.  I don't use that Adams hybrid anymore because the ball flight is a bit too low versus a FW, but I can't bring myself to part with it.  Not necessarily the best ever, but a special club for me.

I'm partial to the Super 9031 23* and my 19* XTD Super Hybrid (Original Grey head) that can't get kicked out of the bag for very long.  Both clubs have been mainstays in the bag for the past 10 years, and I have yet to find anything that can perform better than them.

I have an old Adams Red Hybrid 20* with a wear mark dead middle . It is a club that will not leave the back up bag. The other one I personally loved was the old Idea Pro Super Hybrid; that was one of the longest hybrids I have ever put into play. I actually put an old MP650 to replace it as it went to far . The IPSH was just stupid long, I hit a layup on a 605 yard Par 5 and thinking "Ok, I will have 100-110 out for my third", walking up I see a ball on the front edge of the fringe; just stood there in AWW.

Adams Idea Pro "Peanut"....in either the "1" or "2"...absolute cannons...only hybrid I ever found that beat it was my Nike Slingshot 2iron (that's still in my bag since like 03.

I'm still playing with the OG Tight Lies 16 deg. and 19 deg.  I have a Sim2 5 wood and have a very difficult time hitting off the deck.  The Tight Lies 19 deg. I hit 185-210 yds depending on lie, swing, etc... I hit them with confidence and rarely hit a bad shot with them.  It's a timeless design.

A12 pro gets the vote for me even though I have a hard time hitting it. The sound and feel when you pure one is just something else

I just picked up a 9031 that seems nice. I like the compact profile.

For me it's at what loft -

 

9031 Super is more of a fw, so it's 19*ish

The peanut/pro mini performs best for me at 23*ish as I need loft to help with the low spin these produce.

The boxer is anything above 24* gets the best results- favorite was the 27* I had

Had an 18* iWood, with the Steel tipped Graphite shaft was was a super club for me in the early 2000's.  My favorite though was the Pro Gold "Boxer" hybrid.

I use a 19º Super Hybrid as my 5 wood, and a 22º V4 4iron hybrid with a Diamana Kai'li 80HYB shaft. 

The V4 is a beast, also very accurate, it's my 200 yard club all day. 

The super hybrid is a great off the tee club for long par 3's or short par 4's. 

 

I had a set of V3's with a 5 and 6 full hybrid and those were also great, sold them a while back (regrettably).

I have a 4 and 5 V3 hybrid that came with a partial set I bought, but have 55 gram Bassara lite flex shafts.

My father uses them when we play. 

 

My 3 wood is a Tightlies Titanium 13.5º 3+ and that thing is an absolute MONSTER. 

If I catch it right, it goes as far as my driver...

I've thought about cutting it down or re-shafting it for a nice fairway finder.

 

Out of them all I think I like the V4 4hy the best, it induces a lot of confidence and feels fantastic to hit.

I picked one up reduced to $50 from $339.  It came with a red tie shaft which imo was the best shaft that has ever come in a OTR club.

I have 5 of them, all of which are Tour Issue. I've got a 16°, 18°, 20° x2, and 22°. 

 

I'd like to track down a Tour Issue 24°.

I like the Super S (have 19, 22, 25, and 28, but usually only carry the 22).  I am probably drawn to the Super S because of the larger size - 3W is the favorite club in my bag.
