Best Mizuno irons of all time

1. MP29 goat blade from the Golden era.

2. Mizuno not really known for this type, maybe MX23?

3. Comp EZ, classic Mizuno feel, really easy to hit. I played a set of these for the past two seasons.

4. I haven't hit many newer Mizuno irons, but I have had many older sets in the bag over the years. I liked the MP5, MP33, MP32 the most.

Mp14. None of the crazy has to have a razor thin top line nonsense or crazy has to have zero offset nonsense. Easy to hit for a blade, Little bit of offset and a top line that gives you a bit of confidence, and buttery feel! Great clubs!

Mp-33 has to be up there. All around I would go with the mizuno pro 223’s though as they’re so versatile and still quite appealing. My only complaint there is I wish they would have forged the 7 iron the same was that they did 8-PW. I don’t mind the 4,5, & 6 being a little bit hotter. Maybe could’ve gotten away with the 6 being forged as well but im

picky about feel.

So many great Mizuno irons...but MP-32's would be my pick. So soft they must have mixed in a vat of butter to the grain flow forging process. Not just the best Mizuno iron ever--the best iron ever, period.

Mizuno TN-87 is the best blade from Mizuno, you can still see similar design on today's models from the GREAT iron manufacturer Mizuno.

The MP-33’s were an all-time blade, but I’m still not taking them over the MP-5. The 5’s check all the boxes - gorgeous, sleek AND friendly. MP-5 is my all time Mizuno iron

mp69 irons were slept on. One of the best looking and performing blades around!

I know this goes the opposite direction, but they made a t-zoid Titanium Iron that was generally bad feeling.  

 

MP 33 were a great set of irons.  They'd get my vote any day!

MP-33 for me. Best irons I've ever gamed, but your ball striking does need to be sharp.

MP-32s are my all-time favs. MP-60s are a close second. Both are absolutely timeless and as playable as anything made since.

 

Like a Porsche 993, the shape and performance of the 32 is just magic. 

 

I love the fact that Mizuno keeps pushing, but I won't count on any improvements in terms of feel or aesthetics.

- GI: MP-59 (BEST feeling Mizuno iron)

 

This thread makes me think how far Mizuno has fallen (or left behind).  Mizuno irons from at least the last 5 years have held no appeal to me.  My recent MP-223 purchase was a disaster.

The three old sets of Mizunos I still have kicking around are the MP33, the MP32, and the Comp EZs. I don't have to say much about the first two, but man, were (and still are) the Comp EZs special. Larger head but thin sole, modest offset, and Mizuno feel... I see some of the other posts asking about forgiving irons for pickers, and I would argue that these would still be a great choice.

Of the sets I've hit/gamed the mp32 win hands down. Easy on the eye and gorgeous to strike. I had a good couple of seasons with probably a little known model back in the day, shadow ht.

As I lefty I've owned and still currently own the MP 20, 32, 54, 68 and 223. In my opinion the MP68 is the all around best.

MP52’s are amazing irons. I’m not consistent enough to play the blades but I’d rock the MP69’s if I was.

If those miura forged 681T's made it into existence, that's what he'd have had in the bag if he was a free agent.

Lots good answers here. Can't really argue with any, but I'd add the MP20 MCCs. Perfect blend of workability, forgiveness and feel. I have been playing these for the last few years and haven't even thought about replacing them.

Tigers were MP29, thats what was in his bag back at the Navy course back in the day....

I know, he used a mixed set of 29's in the long irons and 14's in the mid-short irons when he won the 97 Masters....I'm just sayin 33's would've been next for him
