You make an excellent point, which I 100% agree with.

My ~2,600 rpm spin was off a launch monitor, Trackman with RTC balls to be exact. My goal was to move off low spin heads and trade a bit of high launch/low spin distance for more fairways. However, once on course, a touch of wind, moisture on the ball etc., my spin really climbed leaving me well short of my on course expectations. The learning for me is launch monitors are awesome, but actual ball flight trumps all.

I did swing by the shop and snagged an 8* head. On the Trackman the 8* put me in that ~2,300 rpm zone. I'm playing tomorrow and optimistic this head will deliver exactly what I'm looking for.

Fair points, you might not have that high toe death miss like I do.  I can get a little to up and inside on the ball and it can result in a shot with almost no spin on it if I play a setup that spins too little in general.  Living in that 2,500-3,000 range on average personally gives me best on-course results.

I don't find shots to be floating or ballooning into the wind unless I start really creeping over the 3,000 mark on average.

I’ve Heard plastic tees were the cause for the face damage I had. It looked like there were tiny bubbles at the bottom of the face.

Has the film on the face become more durable?

If not, what tee should I be using? Don’t know if I want to use plastic this year after what happened to my OG grey mystealth

I've always wondered if the mystealth faces are tested to the same degree as the stock red face.

I know folks with the myspider complained about different color inserts not having the same feel and roll as the stock spider inserts.

The faces are just painted a different color. Check out the video.

FWIW, my OG MyStealth+ w/the same face color did the EXACT same thing! No other issues and didn't seem to impact performance in any way. TM took care of me in the end even though it appears to be nothing more than a cosmetic issue. As much as I wanted one in all black, I did not go w/MyStealth2+ as a replacement. The factory black/red will have to do this time around.

I just took my Stealth 2+ fairway out for a debut this last weekend and it only took about 2 swings to kick my Sim2 TI out the bag. Maybe placebo, maybe not... but the fact I can slide the weight forward but keep the loft close to 15 has me hitting low spin bombs off the tee (I barely hit my 3 wood off the deck).

I have 3 sons that play competitive golf in one form or another.  Each one wants the Stealth 2+ 3 wood.  The 14 year old hits it 240+, but it’s straight all the time.  He has asked me to use it in AJGA.

we all know that the driver gets all the attention.  But the Stealth 2+ Fairway Wood is probably the best club released by TM so far this year.

It absolutely is. Really, really good 3w...but not the best of this year's releases...

Played the M4 the past 5 years or so and have hit it well...

Bought the Stealth+ head last year (put in the same shaft), and found it to be weird weight distribution and ended up hitting a bunch of balooning slices (not cuts), vs maybe a baby fade/pully draw I hit with the M4 for years. Bought some lead tape to mess around with the weight at the back of the head, but never did do anything with it.

Question is - should I buy a Stealth 2 (not a +)? I am thinking I get better results without the track weight... but I dont know, and maybe that new weight in the 2023 model at the back of the head has something to do with it?

Any tech/driver gurus have suggestions?

Aftermarket weights for the Stealth and Stealth + are pretty readily available lots of places.  I don't think I've seen the same for the 2 and 2+ yet, but they will be coming soon.

This is the best fairway wood I’ve ever owned.  5 wood turned all the way down paired with my Ventus Red is so easy to hit off the deck and is almost automatic off the tee.
I got this club specifically for my home club that requires 2-3 tight tee shots and so far so good!

I've fit all my clubs- and hit the Stealth head, preferred my prior shaft vs other options. Hit well (or about the same as the M4) in the sim... real world applications have been very different.

Whole other topic, but feel like I can never hit proper drivers on a trackman in a bay. Need to visit the kingdom maybe haha

Well I got the stealth 2 plus. It was the only driver to knock out my Sim 2 driver. I love how the driver sets up behind the ball and it feels outstanding. I got a little more ball speed and carry distance on the monitor compared to the sim 2. And I get the convenience of transferring my ventus velocore blue shaft without having to retip.
