2023 Maxfli Tour, Tour X and Tour S

I put a box of yellow Tour X into play after playing a box of white Tour S balls.  The X flies significantly higher than the S and, of course, feels much harder.  Not a whole lot of difference in distances or overall performance I would say.  The yellow is definitely more durable than the 2021 model.

Have two rounds in the Tour X and it’s a good ball.  Definitely comparable to V1X in terms of spin and height. 
 

The cover does shred on wedges.  These were 80-100 yd 54*’s that fish gilled the cover pretty deep.  Iron flight is high as well as driver.  Around the green they’re definitely firm but still spin.  Wish they were a little softer off putter but that’s about my only gripe.

The code only works on the Golf Galaxy website.  The GG website will allow you to choose a DSG location to pick them up if you don't want them delivered and it's more convenient for you to go to a DSG store than a GG store.

Just ordered 4 dozen Tour S from the GG website with pickup at a closer DSG location.  Code worked fine - thanks!

S is really comparable to AVX, with maybe a touch more spin.  It's a great ball, especially for $24.99 a dozen.

Perfect! Any chance you feel it plays the same in the wind? Maybe a little worse if the spins higher?

I played it earlier this year in the Spring and it was fine in the wind.  It doesn't spin massively more than the AVX - just a little more bite around the greens and with iron shots.  

 

For $25/box it's a no-brainer.  I really like the AVX and it's my primary ball, but I'll gladly play the Tour S.

Neither will spin as much as the ZStar Diamond (except for off a short wedge).  Tour X is closer.

That said, with a wedding and other commitments, they'll likely be on the shelf until next summer.

I played last generation Tour balls and liked them. They rolled out a little more than my preferred ball, but easy to adjust and half the price. I picked up two dozen of the 2023’s to try. Great deal.

I bought my 4 dozen for the winter. I tried the Tour last year to go lower compression but just didn't like them as much as the X. I got fit into the V1x so I grabbed more of the Tour X for this winter. This just seems to be the best DTC ball out there.

Played my first round with the Maxfli Tours yesterday that I picked up on this deal. I normally play Pro V1 and previously Snell MTB Black.

 

I was really pleased with the performance and drop/stop on approach shots. In particular, I had a tough wedge shot out of the rough that landed and stopped within just a few feet. I’m also happy with the removal of the extra aim lines, since I add a sharpie line. The Maxfli logo is simple and the black dot actually makes it easier to spot my ball. 👍👍

Haven’t played a round with them yet but took my fresh tour s to the short game area and found them to have plenty of greenside spin and didn’t feel as much like a marshmallow off the putter as I feared. Very happy so far but will take them for a real test soon. Very confident these will be my winter ball.

Played 36 on the tour x today.  It’s a great ball but the cover shreds pretty bad off full wedges. I ripped about half the maxfli logo off with a 3/4 pitching wedge today. 
 

Driver distance is on par with every premium ball I’ve played… Bridgestone BXS, Pro V1 and V1X.  Spin off long irons is fine, mid irons is fine, wedges they spin pretty hard.  Green side spin is acceptable as well, they bite like a prov1x. The course was soft today but I was pulling back pitching wedges and gap wedges 8-10 feet.  
 

They’re pretty clicky off milled putters but not unbearable by any means.

I wanted to like the Maxfli Tour in the worst way. When I tried last year's model, it was noticeably shorter for me off the driver. At my age, giving up even a few yards off the tee due to the ball I can't accept.

getting winter here and I can wait a bit until it happens again.
