I have some launch monitor data from the maxfli Tour vs. Vice Pro vs. ProV1 from a session I did back in October.  In general, all were pretty close, and I didn't hit many shots with all of the balls, just about 4 or 5 for each ball. Cliff Notes for each type of shot is:

50 yard shot: Vice and Maxfli spin and launch pretty much identical, ProV1 had about 300 more rpms, launching 1* lower. All in all, not much difference in these balls.

Full PW: Vice Pro spun more than Maxfli Tour  (9,457 rpm to 8,725rpm). ProV1 spun the least at 8,627.  Launch angles were very similar between all three.

Full 7i: Vice Pro spun more than the Maxfli Tour (7,390 rpm to 6,993 rpm ), and launched lower (17.7* to 19.1*) than maxfli. ProV1 had near identical launch numbers to maxfli.

Driver: Vice Pro and Maxfli both averaged 166.8 ball speed, 12 launch, and very low spin (1,800 with maxfli, 2100 with Vice Pro). The ProV1 averaged 169 ball speed, and had a few 170+mph balls. Thing is, I'm not sure what the swing speed was for each shot (GC Hawk with no club data, only ball data), so it's possible I was swinging a touch faster with the ProV1.  It's also possible the ProV1 has a better core for high speed retention. I personally feel like it's more to do with the internal core of the balls, and not my swing speed. I've noticed on the course that the Maxfli Tour is about 10 yards shorter than other balls, so I think it's more overcompression than slower swing. At some swing speed, both the tour and the pro become too soft; however, I'm not sure where the cutoff is.

Yea, I have no doubt that over compression will never be a factor in my swing. LOL.  Depending upon my knees my SS ranges 92-96.  I'm not over compressing anything.  I find, distance wise, I get almost equal distance with the Pro and Tour.

Soooooo...... Being I have only 9 dozen Vice Pro left should I take advantage of the 5+1 deal to stock up on Neon.  Just a thought.....🤦‍♂️

After reading all the posts here, I swung by DSG while I was out and grabbed a dozen Tour X’s. I’m hoping to play tomorrow, but we’ve been having a ton of rain so that’s questionable. Eventually I plan on getting the Tour and Tour S to compare but figured the X would be the place to start coming from V1x

Managed to get out for a quick 9 today and got to compare the V1x and TourX side by side. I’ll give a brief run down of what I noticed. I have no official numbers, this is just what I observed today

Driver: this one to me was a complete wash. I want to say the Tour X flew a little higher, but that could also be just me trying too hard to find a difference

Irons: both appeared to me to fly roughly the same, and spin seemed comparable with a slight edge to V1x. I dropped some balls at 165 and hit 7 irons into the green, and noticed the V1x consistently stopping a little sooner, but we’re talking within 2’, nothing major and highly doubt I’d notice if they weren’t directly beside each other

Wedges: basically a repeat of the same, though this time I felt the Tour X flew a little higher. Spin seemed pretty equivalent, with maybe a bit more to V1x. Again, we’re talking within 2’ of each other

Short game: this one I give the edge in spin to the Tour X, but the edge in feel to V1x. The cover of the V1x felt/sounded a little softer, while the Tour X was a bit more clicky. Nothing major, nothing that would turn you off if you’re a fan of other X balls, but it was slightly more. I do also think it spun a little more on those short chips and pitches, but it was so close it probably had more to do with my own variance than the ball

Putter: as mentioned in the wedges, the Tour X was a little more of a click off the putter, but again, nothing that made me want to vomit and throw the ball in the water. If you can handle a V1x or BX, I think you’ll manage fine with the Tour X. Off my circa, everything feels relatively “soft” anyway, so I tried a few different putters just to confirm. The Tour X was consistently a little firmer feeling, but by no means a bad feeling ball. If I didn’t have the Pro V1x right there, I wouldn’t notice it for more than a few putts

Durability: only 9 holes, but there were extra shots taken with each ball. I noticed absolutely zero difference between this ball and a V1x, but I’ve also never really been one to straight up destroy a ball

Overall: genuinely impressed with this ball. For $15 less, I’d say the performance was very comparable to the Pro V1x. They’re not the exact same, you can discern differences here and there, but at the level I’m hacking it around at, I’ll never have my score affected by it. I’m anxious to try out the Tour and Tour S to see what those play like. Given the fact I can buy 4 dozen for $120 at the DSG a few miles from my house, there’s a very good chance I’ll be switching to the Maxfli ball unless some glaring issue comes up. The only thing I do wish is that they would drop the “CG” on the alignment line. Don’t ask me why, for some reason I am unnecessarily bothered by it, but if that’s my biggest complaint after more testing/playing it, I’ll take it

Edit: forgot to add this was being tested against the ‘21 Pro V1x. I’m on my last dozen before going to the ‘23. Comparing off the putter alone, the ‘23 is a bit softer again than the ‘21. The difference between the ‘23 and Tour X is a bit larger, but the Tour X still isn’t a bad feeling ball, the click is just more noticeable compared to the ‘23 version than the ‘21

Also, the Tour X does get dirtier and look a little duller than the V1x. If that’s something you’re concerned with, it is a noticeable difference. Upon closer inspection, there *is* one noticeable fairly decent scuff on the Tour X. I did lay the lumber to it against a tree, so I can’t say whether that came from the ball being scuffed from normal strikes or if it was from the tree, but I did find one scuff while looking at it today. Curious to test this more and see if that becomes a trend, durability might be poorer than the V1x, but given I did hit a tree with it, I can’t accurately say one way or the other yet

I still love the performance of these balls but I am destroying the cover with wedges. Gets fish gills for me after a few shots with a 55-60 degree wedge. This isn’t an odd thing for me as it’s why I don’t play tp5 series or the new pxg balls.
otherwise ball performs and launches in a great window for me but a ripped up cover after 20-30 mins of wedge work make it questionable long term

I’m not sure which model to try…

Driver has a swing speed of 97 and ball speed of 135..distance around 230

IMO start with the standard Tour. If you want something softer with higher iron trajectory, then maybe the S. If you’re looking for a more Srixon VX-like response / more spin, then the X.

Players may come to the Maxfli Tour group expecting the X to behave like a V1x, and it really doesn’t, or the S to be a ChromeSoft, which it isn’t. The standard Tour is quite like a V1 though, with a little extra height, which can be useful to many.

Maxfli Tour S plays like an AVX with a bit more spin, both on full iron/wedge shots and around the green.  It's a really good ball.

In my admittedly limited use it was much closer to a Bridgestone BRX or a later model QST. The AVX’s response seems to be more individual than most though, so maybe the Tour S is similar in that way as well.

Anyone know the compression rating of the S version?

An online review I read said it was about 80 compression and gave some comparisons:

That being said, with a compression around 80 on our gauges, the suggestion is that the Maxfli Tour S isn’t going all in on soft. Similar compression balls include the 2021 Srixon Z-Star, OnCore Vero X1 and the 2022 Bridgestone Tour B RX.

If anyone is looking to stock up on these balls, Dick’s has a promotion going on right now for $30 off $150+ when you buy through the app.

If you add 6 boxes to cart, the total comes to $150 or $25/box.

best deal is to add 4pk at $119.99 , 2 dozen individual packs, and a $1 filler to reach $150. 6 dozen for $120, $20 a dozen.!

Well, I'm not sure how that adds up to $150, but the deal is over so this is a moot point.

I played the Tour S today. The ball feels very soft. Feels like the BStone BRXS. It was short for me off all clubs. It putts very well.

I’ll be trying the Maxfli Tour.

I’ve been trying quite a few to replace the BRX that I’ve played for several years. I’m trying to find a ball just a bit more firm.

Just saying

YMMV

Did you use the previous version? How do they compare, if so. I want so much to like this ball, but I've found the previous version to be shorter for me off everything compared to other balls I typically use (Snell MTB Black / Callaway ERC Soft).

I wish they sold these in Canada as I don’t want to pay $70 for a box of ProV1s here.  Ridiculous!

You mean they won't ship to Canada? Are you close to the border to pick them up at the stores? We get free shipping 4 dozens for $120.

My buddy lives on a course and has buckets of balls that he finds at night with a blacklight.  He threw this ball in a shag bucket after he cleaned it, admittedly because it was a Maxfli.  He let me have it along with some Snells that I had asked for.

Today, I used it for the first time.  This ball did everything I want and expect from a good ball.  Distance was great with driver, and was pretty much on par with were I normally am on the course.  Iron spin was good, green side spin was great for me.  I was able to hit nippers with it.  Wedge spin was more pop and stop, but I'm not a huge backspin player with wedges.  Ball held up for 12 holes until I smoked a cart path, and it had a good scuff on it.  But overall I was impressed.

I have been looking into the vice balls, but found that I was too late for the 5 dozen get one free promo.  But after today's round, I went ahead and bought the 4 dozen for $119.  Had a $30 gift card for DSG anyway.
