If you're confused about how you feel about him ask yourself (huge)if he had the lead in a major, would you be rooting for him or against him?

If he were in contention at major I bet nearly everyone would be rooting for him. I know I would.

But till then he's just the bearded lady at a carnival sideshow 🤣

All anybody cares about is his wild “character arc”, to use the parlance of our times

And he and LIV are milking it for all it’s worth

I imagine he is grateful that people have an interest in him on a personal level.

Thousands of Athletes is get hurt and need to quit in every pro sport and nobody expresses any care about them whatsoever

Absolutely!...... His employer would be disappointed if the public didn't talk about his personal demons......

This isn't complicated. AK was a fan favorite who fell off the face of the Earth for literally a decade, only to re-emerge as a PR stunt for a widely-reviled golf league.

To many fans, this isn't a feel-good story. It's just another annoying attention-seeking stunt.

100%.....And this little publicity stunt got more traction than the player they paid over

a 1/2 billion dollars. IMO🙂

And there we have it.  The hate is because he went to THAT tour.

I watched the Ferrity interview last night.  I was left wanting more.  He completely dodged the Insurance settlement question which to me is the most interesting aspect of the story.

Did anyone think he wasn't going to do that? Like c'mon.

Do we actually know for a fact that LIV is behind this documentary?

I liked the interview but like others wish it was a bit deeper. Then again, I think it gives enough that any halfway intelligent person can figure out what went on. Have to admit I like the story arch, at least where it sits now. I've had friends that completely lost their way down a very dark and deep hole, lots of them never emerged, a couple ended up with kids and that completely turned their world around for the better. Hopefully that continues to be the case for AK regardless of where his golf game goes. Don't really care if he played for two months or the last ten years. And the reality is if he went the PGA route as was apparently discussed then you know JH and the PGAT would be doing the exact same fluff pieces on AK's story as well.

Hopefully AK's game continues to improve, and even more importantly, hopefully his life continues to improve as well. It's not very regularly that lost souls find their way back.

Envious of anyone that can hit the ball well? Sure. But there's a lot of others out there to emulate.  Jealous of any of them? No.

But perhaps you might think like that because you've experienced your own shortfalls in golf or life in general? But don't keep casting that on others.

I am envious of his upbringing and rich family history.   The legend of Anthony Kim is defined by his family crest, a crocodile eating Gus Grissom.

Only one athlete in history I’d ever be jealous of if I was even  alive in that era

Joe D 1955. Centerfield for the Yankees and not doing too shabby in the chick department 🤣

I think Jeter may have a more impressive resume in that regard. Especially with the exotic birds.  Joe D definitely had a "type" though 😜

Or Wilt Chamberlain.

The articles on his interview indicated the the documentary was produced by LIV.

If AK has really "rediscovered his love for golf" he could have done anything. He could have gone and ground out his game on the mini tours, he could have hit Monday Qs, he could have done any number of things.

It would be pretty nice to get to go all over with your family ((kid/kids) I'd never take an adult female with me/us) play a game you enjoy and make some money.

Draw it out to a 10 part docusary, whatever.  Good for all them.

I also wasn't aware it was against some code, that one couldn't advertise for their league/team/sport/race/cup/derby etc.

I just want to know how much he spent on booze/drugs/gambling/women and how much he wasted on everything else.  😆

I watched the interviews and clips posted. I think AK rediscovered his love for golf when he looked at his dwindling bank accounts. It will be interesting to see the details comenout down the road. I thought the good part of the interview was when he said he was having lunch with his mom at a course and borrowed a club to just go whack some balls for fun. That clip turned into a viral comeback story when it was just a guy hitting 30 balls for nothing more than his own enjoyment.

99% of the folks who chimed in here will  check in on LIV to see how AK is doing this weekend.  Ive been following LIV and AK ever since his return.   Going to check out LIV reminded me of how we need most of those guys back on Tour.  Just leave out Patrick Reed.   lol

For the first time in my life I will be a 1%er! I have never checked in on LIV and never will. I barely watch the PGAT much less check results online. I do like peeking into these types of threads though, they are very entertaining in an Ancient Aliens kind of way.

Gonna press X to doubt. While he's moved the needle in terms of getting people talking about LIV and likely even watching more than all their player cash grabs did, Kim alone is not enough to sway the abstainers in most cases.

Glad to know he's in a better place and feeling grateful, but LIV remains a sideshow and the way it was built means I will never tune in. Shame Kim took the easier path back, though it's his life, his choice.

I doubt his bank account was hurting at all. He even said in the interview he was financially fine.  You probably didn’t notice the stacked up Cartier bracelets his wife wears. A pretty good sign he isn’t hurting for cash, if you even know what those love bracelets are worth.

I respect him coming back now that more has come out. He's showing humility and wants to help other people. Good for him. Sure Liv isn't my tea but he has a right to accept a job with them.

It's interesting because there is almost certainly a pretty direct story about addiction and recovery here that he has to tip-toed around for the sake of public appearance. If a different world where everyone was just cool with being direct and honest about this stuff, AK gets up there and points to his left nostril and says "i've done enough blow to kill about 3 men, and the doctors told me if I keep going to the 4th that i'll probably end up dead, so now i'm doing this because I have a daughter that needs her dad".
