Can’t wait to hear how these velocore iron shafts are.  Anyone heard if they’re comparable to the MMT’s?

Once I saw they were supposed to launch higher and spin more it sounded like MMT’s to me! The higher launch and excessive spin are why I went L-series. Interested to see if it lands more in between the two rather than following the MMTs

Subjective mini review... Matt from Txg mentioned today that he thought they felt great. He was surprised to learn about the very low torque and commented they felt "easier to swing than my project x".

Believe he's using px LS 6.5. He'll have them put into a combo set of new Cobra cb/mb.

No mention about how hard they will be to build though 🤔🧐🤣

Matt said the same thing when testing the MMT 125 TX. I think Fujikura is hoping YT or golf forum influencers jump on board in a big way to help evaporate any controversy of the shafts being 3 parallel blanks.

Txg isn't really an influencer per se, and because they aren't paid, Matt can still play whatever he wants. In that regard, it could back fire if he ends up going back to steel.

Can someone explain what parallel tip means?

Simply put…it is a .370 tip diameter iron shaft that is sold as a single length option. It is typically 40-41”. These shafts are tip trimmed for the specific iron you are installing it in. 4” in the pw, 3” in the 8, 2” in the 6. And then butt trimmed to lengths. These shafts can easily have the tips trimmed different lengths to dial in flex. A taper tip design is already made at specific lengths for the irons and butt trim only to length.

Hey guys - We're excited to introduce to you - AXIOM - our new composite iron shafts powered by VeloCore.

OK stupid question but here it goes. With people playing "PXXG" irons these would go straight in correct? If so, does this effect playablity in the tip section...

No not straight in. The would still need to be tip trimmed for the specific iron and flex preference (hard or soft stepped) but no tip shaping would be required like installing them in a .355 tapered hosel

The rest of the story ….most taper tip shafts are constant weight. Every shaft weighs the same. Parallel shafts are trimmed as described , shaft weights get lighter   From 3 to Wedge.

Converting a 370 diam tip to 355 doesn’t change the weight characteristics.

Might want to wait and see what UST Mamiya is coming out with before pulling the trigger on the Ventus shafts.

Any confirmation that these launch higher and spin more?  that would be a "no go" for me.  I am trying to bring launch down, and my spin is in the right window with my Steelfiber shafts.

I thought I heard Txg guys say it's got a mid bend profile which might encourage a little bit more launch. If you've spent any time around here, you'll know that it's not guaranteed that a "low spin" shaft will actually produce less spin, and if it does, it's likely to only be a few hundred revs at most.

I believe Matt said he saw numbers very similar to X100 when trying them out the first time. I believe we should start seeing more reviews in the next week or so

Parallel just three different types per weight and flex. I think it helps with keeping weight fairly close and not having to tip short irons crazy

Yeah I figured out they were parallel. The three shaft set deal is interesting. Not sure what to make of that yet.

I really want to try these though

Sounds like Ventus Blue, I wonder if they are planning to release profiles similar to Red and Black as well.

I think softer from a profile perspective than Ventus Blue.

I would consider the Axiom to be like a Modus 120 in the handle and then ultra stiff in the tip (stiffer in the tip than Modus 120).

Hmm.. I don't typically like butt soft shafts and when I tried the modus I was not a fan.. This is maybe saving me some money.

Calling people names cause they might not agree with you is a sign of ...  There's no accounting for the lack of social skills.  Probably a contributing factor to why more OEM people don't chime in.

Taper tip and Parallel tip shafts each exist for reasons.  My irons are taper tip, and not having them built to flex, so ONLY taper tip shafts are installed in my irons by my builder.

Fujikura - I have five of your shafts, no iron shafts.  Keep up the good work.

Definitely a good looking shaft.  Very much prefer the matte finish over the gloss of the mmt.  Logo is clean.

I “think” the MMT in gloss is taper tip and the MMT in parallel is matte.

At least, my P790’s that are taper were gloss and my PXG and GolfWorks parallel shafts were matte.  So, I think that is correct.
