If this keeps up, he’s going to have to find something else that isn’t another hobby.

Kiz's lack of length means he's only gonna contend at a handful of tour stops. I heard Kiz on subpar a while back and he talked about how he played Augusta in 2020. He hit 3i on 4 that didn't even get to the top shelf but still made par from 50ish feet, went driver 4 iron on 5 (rolled down to the bottom shelf and 3-putted from 80 feet. On the 6th hole he went over the green and on 7 he hooked it into the left trees and needed to get up/down for par. Kiz said he missed one in 4 holes and he needed to get that up/down to play that stretch in +2 lol

As a Kevin Kisner fan, I'm wondering what is happening with his game. Since the Masters, he has missed 4 cuts and 2 WD's . He shot 7 over on the back 9 at the Travelers and withdrew.

This course would normally be in his wheelhouse at 6850 yards. Hopefully, he can turn it around. Being a Wilson Iron player, I was excited to see him using Wilson. 

Its a hard game at any level!

Interesting. I take in a ton of golf content and have not seen him  featured in any, way, shape or form as a cometary personality in the media. 
 

He hasn’t even done small side features, etc.

 

I wonder where he’s been getting his reps in?

 

Of course NBC shooting from the hip would not shock me at all. Their sports coverage in general is horrific.

 

Edit: Only Greg Olson may be worse than anything on NBC. He makes me wanna do chores instead of Watch football.

Will be interesting to see how the broadcasting goes.  I haven't ever figured him for that type of role, but will definitely give him a chance. Only time I've really heard him speak at length has been on the Barstool podcast.

Looking at his results from 2022 it appears he started cratering in the events right after his match play 2nd place finish. Had a top 10 later in the year but he has been pretty poor since the 2022 match play. He better figure something out soon. 2024 is his last year of full exempt status and likely will not get into any signature/elevated events unless he plays great.

Each crop of young players pushes marginal guys a little further to the edge. Combine that with getting older. Maybe you go to the well with the short game a little too much... This is golf, it happens.

 

As long as you are insightful, honest and semi-restrained (adult) in the booth, you have a decent chance. Some guys can't help saying inane s*** to pass the time or attempt awkward train references every 90 minutes. ... we'll see.

He's been in the booth in Hawaii for a couple of hours on Friday. We will see how he does on the weekend when he is in the booth full time. Usually entertaining, let's see how it translates.

I think he's done a great job so far.  Good chemistry with the guys and not over-talking.

You can tell Kisner knows "less is more".

He's done a number of featurettes with Barstool Sports in the past.  He seems like a good ole boy Paul Azinger type.  Only smarter and funnier.  I hope he succeeds in the booth.  Always liked the guy.

Yeah I’ve seen him do these types of things. Just never as a commentator .

Agreed, it would have been better to have Kiz as the lone analyst to go with the play-by-play host. There's already enough commentary with those two positions when they have on-course reporters and tower reporters included in the conversations as if they were right there with them.
