Im 138-141 with 4-5 degree AoA. Have the 6 degree LD turned down to 5 and am using a 57g 240 CPM shaft @46" and still am more accurate than I've ever been with TX stuff in the OEM heads.

LMAO, gotcha. I was curious about the Krank head being around 115 myself, but that's a different league.

My ball speed is closer than my swing speed to your swing speed.
Thanks for ruining my day.

Long drives don't equal good scores sometimes the exact opposite lol.

Golfs a lot more fun from the fairway than spending half your round looking for your ball in the hazard!

I'd love to see the stats that say being in the fairway hurts scores.

Maybe at the tour level it is true as they hit it so far that they are close enough with wedges to get out of trouble. An extra 20 yards for me doesn’t automatically get me wedge shots. So being in the trees is no bueno. Plus hitting it straighter where I am wanting to breeds confidence that bleeds into rest of my game during the round. If I am spraying it far and wide I loose confidence and trust in my game and it all goes to hell!

Being in the fairway doesn’t hurt your score.

Being in the fairway at the cost of distance can hurt your score. The fairway vs. the rough is not worth a club of distance for most golfers.

obviously being in the trees or OB is different.

Lou Stagner’s newsletters that use the Arccos data are a good place to start for the numbers.

you should hit iron on every tee to ensure you hit the fairway. i bet your score would be worse.

I don't think anyone is talking about hitting irons on every hole.  The premise was taking a few less yards to be in the fairway, versus a bit farther in the rough.  No one is talking the difference between driver and a 6 iron here, that is just silly.

You’re right.

I’ll do that if you hit all your second shots out of the trees or the water.

I think you should probably do a bit of reading on how strokes gained driving works. At no point did I say anything about hitting it into hazards or water. If you hit an iron off the tee to “keep it in the fairway” and I hit my driver 50 yards longer into the rough, I have a greater chance of making par than you do.

I would say that Mike Kim agrees with this line of thinking, especially for amateurs. He is a great follow on Twitter.

Being in the fairway doesn’t equal good scores, actually quite the opposite. Stats confirm this. I’d take long drives all day.

But being in the fairway and long is a big deal lol ping drivers may not be the longest but aint the shortest either. If your a decent driver of the ball with ping your most likely in the fairway or just off instead of under trees. Clear path to the green.

So statistically speaking, as much as most people probably want to combat this, yes the closer to the hole the less stroke to hole the ball on average. However, there are diminishing returns. If you are hitting it 290, but 40 yards right or left of target you're still going to struggle to score. Also different grass is much more difficult in the rough. So as always, it depends!

Be interesting to see if we can actually notice a forgiveness vs the max. It’s just already so forgiving

I might be interpreting this wrong, but this 10k is supposed to be less forgiving than the Max, and also spin less.  It's supposed to sit in between the two current models I believe.  Still very forgiving, but the Max is still the king there.

Max 10K is designed to be more forgiving than Max, spin is expected to be between Max and LST.

I miss left, sometimes from too much draw and for some swings the spin drops to much.  The max is better at retaining spin but sometimes has too much left if I don’t go to - setting.  I only tested LST once this year.  I’m excited to test the 10k and also the new TM.

This is a perfect description of my game off the tee.

I sure wish some demo heads would hit the shops as I’m curious how the spin numbers compare to the Max and if they benefit or hurt me. For my slower swing speed less spin might hurt.

There are already reviews for G430 Max 10k online ... i.e. may need to be creative and search on Japan/Australia channels on youtube.  Example = Linked below.

This is just an unproductive video of an amateur talking about what he expects a future G430 10K driver to look like while hitting a G430LST that is already available.

All depends on how good of a putter you are in the end. Short knockers in the fw, long hitter from the rough. Still have to roll the rock to score.

Do we know what the total MOI of the Max is?  I thought it was over 10k also, which is making the name a bit confusing.  If the new 10k is legit higher than the Max, but does spin less that could be the ticket.  I am in the G430 LST and love it, but this could end up being even better.
