Of course it’s player dependent, but if you have a relationship with your Ping rep, ask him to give you the numbers from their respective robot testing and then you can compare yourself, on whether or not it applies to your particular swing on that particular day.

Anyone know if the head on this one is still following the Ping way of heavier heads ? Or will it be more like other drivers and come in around 190-192 grams to bring the total weight with adapter to around 200g vs 208g ish ?

I wouldn’t expect Ping to change their methodology for this model.

If it's higher MOI plus lower spin / longer than the Max, I reckon that's more than enough.

I assume this release is similar to the LST fairway wood; it just took longer to get right. Seems this year is the year of MOI driver release which will be built upon year over year.

I've been testing LST and Max for a bit. I was able to get the spin down and launch right where I want it with the Max at 8* on the flat- setting with the right shaft and ball.  Which has made the LST useless to me now, tho I prefer the head shape. It's hard to believe I can improve things with the 10k. But that won't stop me from ordering it day 1. Very curious about this one.

I’m curious about the tech story. My uneducated eye sees another fixed rear weight carbon top high MOI driver. Given it’s a Ping I assume the head is heavy. However, my guess is it will sound nice.

Was the Max digitally lofted or are you playing the head open?

@scottaz will have answer the digital loft question but he says he has his driver on flat minus which is flat lie and -1° loft.

I have a 9* 430 LST and Max. I play the Max in the flat -1 like you, and it actually goes farther than the LST for me. I generate higher head and ball speed, generally 121/177 with increased forgiveness. Again, like you, I will be ordering the 10k on day 1 just to see if it is an improvement.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing, with very little ball movement. That may be the only small issue I have so far. I have a tough time shaping the ball. Surprisingly, I can fade it easier. Before the shaft change, it was the opposite.

Probably but it’s a nice problem for Ping to have. G430 Max has insane stability and adjustable/moveable weight. Max 10K is all about the highest level of stability possible.

Gotta be honest - the fact that PING allows the option for regular folks to have their club digitally lofted / measured at the factory, is one of the best offerings from major OEMs.

 

As an example, I ordered my G430 Max driver at 8* of loft with a .25* open face - and the tolerances allowed for a driver that was right where I wanted it to be.

 

I can’t wait to test the G430 10K driver - I’m looking to play a bit of higher spin ball in 2024, and a slight reduction from the driver face would normalize the spin off the driver.
