2024 PING 10K Driver Info

Can’t wait for this release. I still have 3 g400 max heads I game and every time I buy a new driver and then go back to the 400 max I tell myself why the heck I ever try anything else. The 10k one will for sure be one to try to see if can unseat the 🐐. Maybe the blueprint S might also be able to move me away from the Ping iblades I still play. These new releases and the pld custom program is tempting me to go to AZ to get fit in person!

It's just an addition to the line-up. It is still a 430 model. Just like how the LST 3W didn't come out until later as they hadn't perfected it yet. This model wasn't perfected so they waited to release it until it did what they wanted it to.

If it truly has LST spin with max forgiveness then there would be basically no reason for anyone to buy a 430 max or lst

Unless you need the movable weight. Lots of guys like to match up their strike with the weight / Cg.

I hate moveable CG weights, never use them, but definitely like that this will still have swingweight adjustable weight.  Give me an Uber Maxed out forgiving head with a true neutral bias and it’s the new GOAT.  Never should’ve sold my G400 Max or the two backups I had of it brand new in wrappers but I think maybe the 10K will make up for past mistakes and then some!  Take my money now PING!!!!

Feels too good to be true and does seem to crush the rest of their lineup.

I'd assume they don't want products to associate with long periods, although the, "The new PING SUPER MAX will spend a lifetime in your bag!" copy writes itself. Although Callaway probably has Jailbreak Supermax in the pipeline.

Think that is a pretty small group of people. I bet most people have the weights centered and the actual characteristics of the head matter far more.

That really depends on the available range. Titleist for example had a notably poor range with the Surefit cartridge back on the 917/TS line, VERY minimal CG movement capability. PING on the other hand had massive CG movement potential with their approach once they entered the moveable weight game with the 410 line, FAR more than most of the competition. If they maintain that range then it stands to benefit a larger group of folks than most drivers.

When it comes to naming products in the age of the internet you *have* to consider the SEO implications (search engine optimization). You always want your product to stand out and you NEVER want it associated with something negative. Needless to say "Supermax" is quite......bad lol. 😅

10K referring to the club’s MOI will be spoken about in all the marketing. Plus, us golfers are a funny bunch that are often guided by ego. Tell somebody a club is “super game improvement” and their biases bubble up. Many will not even give the club a try because of the category it falls into. For this club in particular, I can hear the sales pitch already; higher forgiveness than Max with the low spin of LST while being a 460cc head.

I’ve loved the G430 LST this year. But can’t wait to try this one. I like the 10K branding, and with the carbon crown I hope the feel is closer to the current LST than the Max.

I know some have mentioned this as a TSR1 competitor, which is not what I’d want … but even if that’s accurate, surely you can order it with a heavier weight?

Here is what Ping should have done. Should have followed the g400 lineup.

445cc LST

445cc G430

460cc G430 Max 10k

I love my G430 Max but lose noticeable ball speed because I swing it slower than everything else. Give me a G400 called the mid offering G430 with the updated adapter and whatever they have done to lower spin.

Wouldn’t a 420 to 430cc LST make more sense?

I agree. It’s not about “shot shaping” as is advertised by the manufacturers.

I prefer a neutral head and let me make the setup and swing dictate the ball flight.

The little amount of cg movement will be very negligible effect to ball flight. The larger effect on the moveable weight is adding ball speed to match a certain strike pattern.

I might agree with you on the 917 line, but the 410 moveable weight was damn near pointless. Moving a tiny amount of weight 3/4 of an inch around the back of the head is nothing. It was a gimmick to get on the trend of MWT and that's all it was.

As any ‘20 year ol driver versus latest, greatest’ video will tell you, you will gain about a yard distance from last year’s model. Of course, if you play 3 rounds a week using driver 14 times per round you gain 42 yards. Say 50 weeks of golf a year means over 2000 yards gained. That’s like hitting the green with your t shot on a par 20! Sign me up!

This 410 weight?

image.png.651341c7fd8146630527ed7b593be606.png

14g stock on the LST and 16g on the Plus model, both weights that are quite large compared to the competition which are normally <15g, AND the adjustment track is far wider than any other head, then or since. The CG adjustment range on the 410 was 5.5mm which is still the widest range I think that has existed on any head to date, so maybe you're thinking of the G425? In which case yeah, less physical range BUT a heavier weight. The G425 MAX had a very effective range as a result of the heavier back weight, but the G425 LST would have suffered a little in that regard. Still very respectable though compared to the median range which is about 2.5mm.

Everyone thought if you moved the weight it made the head feel and sound horrible. No one actually used the weight track in reality.

I also don’t understand the point about it having a significant effect. It’s very minuscule with regards to both ball speed and curvature.

pretty much all hype with little result. Face adjustments via the sleeves are a multiple order magnitude greater amount of change.
