At some point, there has to be a point of diminishing return for MOI right?  But maybe the golfer looking at the new Max 10k would not see it?

Not real sure what is to be gained with the 10K, the G430 Max already has a combined MOI of over 10K?  You get a carbon crown but you lose the adjustable weight.  Doesn’t seem like a reasonable trade off to me.

 

MOI numbers from an article after the G430 release.  G430 LST and SFT mentioned in the same article with MOI numbers included for those interested.

Lot of guys still play the G400 Max. No adjustable weights, long as you have the right shaft and can loft up or down a notch or two, they're happy.

I don’t care to pay for movable weight tech on a driver. Still have the goat lst. 
 

I do like front to back on my brnr. But that’s more spin related. I have a couple setups for it to play as a driver replacement or 3w.

You play the G430 and want a better sound ? That's like a symphony compared to the G425. ☺

I would love for Ping to end up with 3 models every cycle. The LST, the Max, and then something that resembles the standard g400. Think smaller footprint with horizontal MOI around 5200-5400.

The USGA limit is 10,000. If this information was correct the driver would be illegal

Not sure where you are getting that from, the USGA and R&A only place a limit on vertical MOI of 5900, they make no mention of combined vertical and horizontal MOI

If I could have a G400 Max that I could loft down to 6 degrees like a TM, I would never have switched.

For the love of all that’s holy, I sincerely hope not.

 

I just want things as plain as possible and non-distracting from the top. Most BB&Fco ferrules would give me a seizure.

You raise a good point.  I liked the plain no decal look of G400/G425 way better.  Anyone know if it’s possible to remove?

I’ve been taking Sharpies to graphics pretty much since I started playing. And to white rings on ferrules, alignment aids, etc. 

 

Not good for trade-in value though.

Those graphics are pretty minor. I went from the G400 to the G430 this year.

Since I spend most of my preshot looking at the target and about a second looking at the ball\driver before launch and they look even smaller.

I don’t even look at my driver after I’ve lined it up, but the slightest thing catches my eye. Always has done.

I was hoping the 430 was going to get rid of them. I was checking one at GG the other day and man, I can't stand them. it makes the club look cheap imo. I would love to know much of a difference those damn turbulators make? Ping knows that's always on the con's list, the looks and the fact they sound like a metal baseball bat 😂
