Iomic iXx Cord 2.3 - Just released

Has anyone had a chance to play these? I'm looking to stock up on Black Friday if these are as nice as I hope.

I got a few of them in hand but have not put them on a club yet.  Im a big iomic fan, but this is my first cord venture. They feel good in hand.

After my new MCC +4's wear down, I'm trying these.  Love a chord grip, bc I do not wear a glove.  Even in the hot Louisiana summer.

Wish they didn’t break up the cord in the upper hand but I am very interested in these. May have to order one to try out.

I Iomic pretty reputable? I always thought they were a cheap Amazon brand. (Although I'm sure most grips all come from the same Chinese mfg anyway)

Yes. Much larger following in SE Asian market. Many LPGA players and Japan Tour players use them.

Any specific "usage" reasons? Or mainly just the overpowering marketing of Golfpride here in the US?

Not sure on why people like them, I have pulled a few but never used them. They seem nice, tacky, etc. Nothing inherently wrong with them vs the big brands in the NA market. I would assume Lamkin/GP marketing and brand loyalty is just much higher in NA vs SE Asia market.

They're a little pricier, but I went 3 years on a set of irons playing 150 plus rounds a year and never had to change them. Just keep them clean! Also great for guys like me who don't wear gloves.

Should check out BestGrips made in Texas and they have their leather perforated grips. Amazing!

Can you post a few "actual" photos of the grips you have.  All I have seen are "stock" photos of these, but nothing in real life.

My experience was a bit different with the IOMICS.

 

I love the grips.  This past summer was the first year I used them - a wee bit pricey to get them shipped up to Canada but - it will also be my last.  First time my grips never made it through the season (70 rounds - limited practice time).  In fairness, the grips on the clubs I didn't use much (5 iron for example), are still good, but my driver, short irons and wedges all have grooves worn in them from where I grip the club.  Could be a me issue, but never had that problem before.

 

Again, prob my favorite grips, but they cost $25 + CND so, Id like a bit more longevity out of them. If they were similar price to all the other grips in our market, I would ignore how quickly they wear for me, but it just wasn't the case.

I’ve tried tons of different types of grips and Iomic are my favorite.  Beware of cheap “too good to be true” prices on E-bay though.  They get counterfeited.

This has been my experience with them as well, they wear on the thumb area.  Like you, I’m sure it’s a me issue, but experience it with most cord grips, especially Lamkin UTX, which is unfortunate because I love the feel of that grip.  Lamkin Sonar has been perfect for me

I had an older set that I had played for 70 rounds or so and they had a few small thumb prints but nothing terrible.

I let my buddy use them between sets and he played maybe 40 rounds and the thumb prints got huge.

So yeah I think it's different for each user.

love iomics and was surprised how tacky a set of grips were on a several years old set of irons.  didn't harden and get slick like old golf prides do.  very curious about a corded option

They are made of an elastomer instead of rubber which Iomic claim, with their own testing, make them lower torque and can improve dispersion, as well as benefits like not hardening or becoming smooth/slippy as they are UV and Water resistant 

 

my experience with them has been fantastic and they feel like brand new if you wash them with a soft brush and warm soapy water every 2-4 weeks.

Wish they would make the sticky 2.3 in a reduced taper/+4 version. I build mine up but it’s a Pita and built up never feels as good as a reduced taper grip.

This is why some people think they are a cheap brand unfortunately. Iomics are faked quite consistently as they actually a bit of a "premium" grip but with the market more overseas. Still you have well known loyalists to them like Fleetwood, Kuchar, and Matsuyama.

They do it's the 3.5

The 3.5 is not a plus 4, I have them on my wedges, they are simply in between the 2.3 and midsize sticky grips and they taper, I have to build them up as well to minimize taper. The butt of the 3.5 is dramatically larger than the 2.3. I’d like to see the 2.3 size butt w a reduced taper.

Which ones? Sticky 2.3? They are very soft. They feel very good but also they wear out quickly. I have a set on clubs I don't even play that much and they're worn out from my thumb. I think IXX might be different compound but I'm not 100% sure

You sure? It's thicker but it's not reduced taper.
