I'd assume so, now wondering if other OEM's will try and snatch up other boutique makers. Hold onto your putters gents some may get expensive.

 

I will say that's a well done insert, probably see nothing at address.

Came here to say this. Seems very quick after the taylormade milled range. Maybe they realised that they need an out of house brand for a fresh reputation.

Or maybe this deal has been in the works for a long time? Olson went dark on IG back before the Masters. Would have to guess that wasn’t by accident.

After hearing some reviews/experiences, I've been a bit of a basher of his name, work ethic, morals etc

 

But the latest 2 putters he's made for tour pros, I have to admit, very, very good looking. This one is particularly good.

In all seriousness it's a nice looking putter, and the tolerances on that insert must be toight for the sole to look the way it does. Not really sure how TM is going to differentiate the brand when this really is just a milled Anser with a fancy name attached to it. There are already plenty of those in the market.

Aside from the "PROTO" on the shoulder very clean looking putter. His putters have always been nice, but it's no secret his reputation around here is terrible customer service. 

 

Good for him though if TM is picking him up, curious to see what all he makes for them.

Seeing as how the Taylor-Made PGA Tour putter Rep handed me the 2nd putter to photograph lends credence to TM and Olson are working together.

With the TM milled line bombing I guess they think they need a get a "name" on their putters. They would probably be better off just sticking to Spiders because the milled putter space is super saturated at this point.

I agree the space is definitely saturated, but margins must be high for OEM's. A chunk of milled steel, a $5-$10 shaft and a $5-$10 grip adds up to a whole lot of profit, especially if you get the likes of Scottie and Nelly to play and win with it.

Like any OEM most of the good stuff is going to be tour only. I'm sure the retail line will be plain vanilla in comparison. I do think having options is a good thing and it may make more head styles available, but I think this will be a good tour move for TM and likely not as meaningful to us WRX members who like not just a stock retail offering. Who knows though maybe their retail program will have custom options that are PLD like. $500 retail milled putter or likely $1k+ limited custom options is my guess or both

Definitely seems to be following the Titleist/Scotty Cameron example with Taylormade and Logan's move here. I owned one in the past. It was nice but nothing special. Perhaps with some financial backing and a customer service department things will improve.

This is what makes the most sense to me also.  TM obviously does great with those Spider things....that TP reserve stuff...lol, it didn't get any traction or attraction at all!!!  But they won't do that, it's TM and they have to be able to flex also.

It’s one way to get their staff players to stay with them and not tinker with SC for sure. Take the money and run, it’s one way to get guaranteed money. The boutique putter market is flooded right now. Plus look how many putters are coming from these companies right now. Most of them are making more money on the accessories side than pumping out putters at 2k per.

anyways they obviously feel the need for some tour success and there appears to be little tour take up with the Reserve line….. so…..if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again…
