Scottie: If the Spider really is the answer to his putting woes, look out PGA Tour.

RORS: We all know, all it takes is one special week in Augusta, and it feels like it could happen any year.

Jordanian: Like Rory, one special week in May. Feels like more of a wild card these days, but still…

Go!!!

To any serious golf fan that is a great question and open to endless debate. For me I see Brooks Koepka as the most obvious choice based on age, current skill level and the fact that he has already almost won at Augusta and played Euro tour events when coming up so he’s used to playing there for the British.  Rory - possibly if this was still 2014, but I just don’t think he has the mental game anymore on big stages and as much as I like him I genuinely believe his major days are done.  The dark horse to me would be Jordan Spieth as he still has the chops mentally/physical, but cannot seem to put all of the pieces together lately.

IMO there’s no chance for BK even if only because of his future eligibility.

I honestly think it’s Scheffler. I also think Scheffler’s game is going to plummet off a cliff one day too. But of all the guys, he’s most likely right now to win the majors needed.

Next, if you want to witness true relief, Rory winning the Masters will be the Steve Young Super Bowl moment. I think any major would be a jolt to Rory’s system and cause tears on the green, but at this point, it being The Masters…. EPIC.

Rahm? I like his chances better that Spieth’s at the PGA, or what Morikawa has to do. Brooks is never winning an Open. Phil.. God, just can’t put it passed him. Wild. Come one Phil—you’re this close..!

That’s really it for me. The spread of majors wealth since Tiger is incredibly thin.

I'd put the main contenders in the following order, most likely first:

Rahm

Scheffler

Brooksie

Rory

Spieth

Robert MacIntyre

Phil

Phil has about the same chance as Sam Snead at this point.

Sam would already have it if they had up-to-date scoreboards in 1939.

He needs one PGA.  That's a much smaller mountain to climb than Rory, BK or Rahm has to climb.

Rory and Spieth right now have to be well ahead of the rest of the pack.  And I would go with Rory as the Masters has the smaller field and has traditionally kinder to aging golfers.

2 different majors is just so hard to win.

Scheffler looks the best

Its amazing how thin it is post Tiger, but it proves golf is in a great place. So many people can bring A game

I was kinda joking of course but I'm a big fan. Some classic Scottish "summer" weather at Troon this year and you never know, he might get off the mark...

Phil’s got a better chance then Rory IMO. I’d argue he’s got a better major record over the last 3 years. Rory’s just so far in the wilderness right now and I think there’s a better chance Phil get hot for a week

Yeah right. He’s eligible for all of them for the next 5 years automatically due to his PGA Championship last year. That’s without even playing a single other tournament. I have a sneaking suspicion that as the major hawk he is, he will continue to gain eligibility for them beyond the five year automatic eligibility.

Also, if by then there isn’t some sort of “agreement” we may be in trouble! 😂

No GS for Arnie, Watson, Snead

and nobody since TW won…3 of them!

Jack, Hogan, Player, Sarazen. Thats it besides Jones version

Something about the GS does seem to make it almost an “impregnable quadrilateral”

Give me someone who wins a combination of 4 or 5 of the US and Brit Opens.  That's huge.

Phil is 53.  Rory is 34.  So going by that alone, Rory has a much better chance as he will have way more chances.  I personally don't think Rory will get it done, but it'd take a near miracle for Phil to win a US Open at this stage of proceedings.  Truly great players (Nicklaus, Woods, and yes, Phil) tend to manage one last major hurrah when no one is expecting it, but I think Phil's had his already, at Kiawah.
