The increase in price for raw wedges drives me nuts!  Also, having a long list of shaft options for drivers on the website, but only 2 that are not +$350 are available.  And those 2 don’t fit you at all…

This! They’re out there but I wish they more OEMs made them in their current lines.

Also why I looked at Maltby irons, and recently pulled the trigger on a set.  And I buy mostly used if I  get major brand OEM equipment.

There truly is some cool stuff to be had beyond the bright lights of big brand names and marketing, and often for pennies on the dollar.

Cleveland giving up the driver (real R & D) and player's iron space. Of course, this is now Srixon's domain, but at least one tech-driven driver offering and some player-ish irons would be nice from Cleveland.

Grips.

 

Why can't manufacturers keep grips in production? I'll happily pay a premium for green Victory Full Cords and Tour Wrap Cords.

The thing that kills me about the Victory grips (not cord for me) is that apparently they still make them for the pros on request, they rerelease them every few years so the machinery and material stock exists, the most recent rerelease came about because TaylorMade wanted their Copper Burner to look cool with a grip 90% of golfers are going to rip off the second the club is delivered, etc.

 

Like just make the things and sell them to me for a reasonable price. Are they really $14 grips when every club from 1970 to 1990 seemed to come with one? But oh well. I just want to grip rite and swing rite.

Pet peeve for me and my equipment OCD: My last few orders from PING (irons, wedges, driver) had the shaft labels/graphics/verbage all over the place. Still facing down but facing down left, right, hardly anything centered. I also order my grips logo down and same with that. I know you don’t see these things at address, but it just drives me nuts when I see how out of alignment they are.

I'd like to see single strap carry bags that are left-handed (left-shouldered?).

 

I don't want two straps, and I'd like the ball pocket and hip pad to be on 'my' side of the bag please. I know Sun Mountain used to make them, and for years a Ping L8 with everything pushed down to the bottom of the long pocket was fine by me, but why can't I buy one at the Titleist or Ping version of Ned Flanders' Leftorium?

FYI, Golfwork's adjustable drivers do not change shaft orientation when adjusting the loft.

As someone who has worked in club repair part time for almost a decade, all the different manufacturers who use collared ferrules with their irons, hybrids and fairway woods.  Ping with their irons and old hybrids, Callaway with their non adjustable woods, and PXG come to mind.  Also the old Callaway and PING woods that had those massive ferrules that are very difficult to find because those clubs are almost 20 years old.  (Think PING I3 woods and Callaway Diablos drivers)

 

It's annoying to look up the specs of what shaft tip size you need for a club, and then realize that it's not going to fit properly without a specific ferrule for that club. 

 

I know what to look for, but having to fix a club that someone else tried to put together, and who isn't as experienced with fixing certain brands gets old.  Not having the appropriate ferrule available is also irritating because a lot of customers don't understand that sometimes you run out of ferrules and your options are to wait for the appropriate part or we're going to have to shim it if you can't wait.

Shaft OEMs putting #'s on their products that are way off from the actual weight ...i.e. DG120s and Modus 120s are both around 114 grams.

They put massive money into R&D and marketing, and show us these amazing videos of the trucks at tournaments making clubs, we spend time and money getting fit properly and then they deliver clubs that bear no resemblance to the swing weight, lie or loft of the clubs that were ordered.  Yes Im looking at you Taylormade and Titleist.  "The number 1 whatever in golf"

Biggest pet peeve at the moment, the same set of irons that cost $700 ten years ago now cost $1,500 and the OEMs dropped B weight heads out of all models except the the newest irons.  There is something fundamentally wrong when I pay twice as much and the have to pay again for somebody to drill holes in them and reassemble.

For golf balls, not putting some sort of mark on the ball to indicate which 'model/year' it is.

 

Last week I needed a ball, dug in my bag and came out with a fairly used but still playable TP5. I've played them in the past and will test the new one soon.

 

It must have gone at least 20 yards farther off the driver and a club longer than my normal AVX, and farther than any previous TP5 I've played.

 

But I have no idea which version it is.

Biggest pet peeve for me is Ping’s outlandish steel shaft upcharge pricing. For a company that has pushed custom fit options, they penalize the hell out of your for trying. Lol
