Brooks Koepka is probably your favorite player. I suspect you had a bag full of Nike's and a bag full of Titleist prior to your current set up. That being said you seem to be a pretty good ball striker, one that is willing to spend the $$$ to clubs that pair best with game. Just so people don't rag you for hanging off Brooks you probably wear a Vice Hat and glove to match your ball. You probably love telling people how you get premium ball performance for less than premium prices, when we all know it is more about your ball striking ability rather than actually ball performance. But your exactly the person Vice is looking for to put their ball in play.

60: Vokey SM4 Raw

Putter: Odessey White Hot #1 RX

Ball: Bridgestone 330-S

Bag: Ping Hoofer 2

We all look up to the PGA Tour players...

and then we look up to the Web.com players...

and then we look up to the Mini Tour players.

But I think sometimes we mis-construed mini-tour with Mini-Golf...

Your bag says everything about a really good...no....let me set this up, GREAT mini-golf player bag.

The SM4 Vokey is perfect for those tight lies, artificial greens. My goodness, those lobs over the windmills feels AWESOME, just need to hit it just a LIL higher so it will land softer and not bounce your B330S balls to the freeway next door.

Don't cause any crashes now...

10-of-the-strangest-and-funniest-car-crashes-5.jpg4

The Odessey White Hot putter is sensational. Did you pick that up from China? C'mon now....

What a bargain, picking up that putter from that "Pssst...pssst...kid with the LA cap" at that dark street corner for USD $200. He did say it was a "Pour only putter. RARE" and you got a great deal! He was going to charge you $2,000 yen but $200 was a STEAL.

...and wow, did that putter work well you represented the United States of America at the Shanghai mini-golf tournament against that pukey 9 year old representing China and that 11 year old nose picking, slobbering kid from Katmandu. Well done, finished #2 but they ran out of silver plated chocolate medals.

Now, the Bridgestone 330 S are the balls of your choice. You need that extra spin from the ball off the 60* wedge. More spin rock! No more trying to spin those 1 piece purple or green mini-golf balls. You compared the Tour 330 and found it was too hard and this ball feels great and it has a tough skin. Well, good enough for 1 bounce off the road...

Now, the Ping Hoofer is the oddity here. This bag has no relationship with the putter or the wedge and I suspect... you got this from the same kid from that dark corner while you were in China. I think it's a real deal McCoy "Bing Boofer 2" stand bag but the kid may have sharpie marked it to look like a "P" and "H". Nice pickup.

What a bag, my friend. Rarely do we see a mini-golf bag here in this 130+ page thread.

I, for one, will NOT take you on at mini-golf. You are too deadly accurate with that wedge and the Odessey putter...be like stealing candy from the kid...well, at least that pimple nosed kid who hangs around the mini-golf courses.

ps thanks for being a good sport. Nice Bing Boofer bag, by the way :busted_cop:

ps the ps...next time just edit your original post, lol.

I respect the spelling error jokes Swing Blues but I was hoping I'd get ripped on more for carrying the V-Steel 5 as my only wood. If it wasn't for that I'd never break 90. :stop:

nah, wouldn't rip you on the V-steel, one of the best 3 woods ever made and you can probably thank the YS-6 shaft - that is probably part of the secret sauce. A very nice, and very underrated, great value for money shaft. I had one in my 3 wood years ago. For a longshot I would guess that switching the MP-4 blade to something CB would give you a little more forgiveness to improve your ball striking. Blades are nice but I swear, we can all do with some forgiveness to consistently break 90 and never worry about even going into the 90s. Find a good used Ping G, G30 and improve your driver strike. welcome btw and for being a good sport - the single post was hard to pass up :)

I'm a 13 handicap and My bag is a big mix. I love trying new equipment and I'm a deal whore. I buy and sell a lot of golf equipment. (not as much as I use to). Profit from that and trades is how I've set most of my bag. I was fit for a driver and so I play an 2016 M1. It beat everything else by a big margin. I was later fit for a driver shaft separately, but I tried several 2017 heads. 2016 M1 still won.

My 3 wood is an old cobra Amp. I hit it great.

3 hybrid is a Mizuno JPX850 I got in a trade

4-PW irons are Nike VR forged pro combos. (LOVE THEM)

Wedges are 52, 56, 60 bombtech. (actually decent)

Putter use to change weekly but I'm pretty set now with a machine M10 adjuster.

The better players I have played with have similar bags. No real brand loyalty, just a big mix of what works best, usually older clubs and almost always a really old putter.

  • 3 weeks later...

1. You can usually tell how someone is going to play by there bag IMO.

If the bag is sloppy, with big oversize irons that are older, woods are all over the place I tend to think the person probably doesn't play much.

2. The guy who has new expensive gear and is dressed just a bit to nice is probably not that good.

3. When i see a guy with a faded stand bag, forged cavity backs that are at least a couple seasons old. His stuff is used but not abused. Bag is organized nicely. No OEM headcovers I useally think he can play.

That just me when i look at people while going to the first tee.

This thread cracks me up. Reminds me of when My wife started back playing tennis after a 20 yr break and everyone was afraid to play her cause she had a wooden racket.

Anyway, looking to complete a new "older club" bag using the following:

Something to be said about the intimidation factor when you see a guy flush one with a persimmon or lam-wood driver on the first tee.

I definitely like the wood set-up you've got going there, BT. The irons aren't anything to scoff at either - those talk game. Not sure I'd trust that 3 iron much though while getting warmed-up during a cold, New England round as I like being able to feel my fingers. That said, nothing quite like flushing an iron you can also shave with in the morning.

Best Grips wraps are the best for vintage clubs like those and add a touch of class in my opinion. Only thing I'd comment would tie the theme of your bag together even more would be a more old-school bag, but absolutely understand swapping some of that style for the lightweight convenience and durability of a modern bag.

I pulled the AP2s from the bag and am playing baby blades. Also pulled the D3 for now, might put it back after I find a shaft.

I'll play with this one. Here is what tells me you're serious.

  • Exotic shafts that go beyond the no-upcharge shaft options. Joe hacker takes what is on the shelf, someone who knows what they're doing will try some of the free custom options, but only a serious player uses exotic shafts. My guess is that you spent a lot of time with a clubfitter finding the shafts that work for you (as opposed to just trial and error).
  • A 55* wedge. This implies that a) you can tell the difference between 55* and 56*, and b) you've gone out of your way to get your wedge bent to fill the gap. Also with the non-stock wedge shafts
  • Matching shafts in driving iron and irons. Again you know what you like and don't just take what is on the rack.
  • Bettinardi Putter - very rare for someone to buy one of these for reasons other than quality and performance...
  • The Ping bag despite no Ping clubs
  • Iomic putter grip

As for handicap, I'm going to say 1.9, which is great given that you live somewhere where it snows for half the year and you don't get to practice much anymore. You're already wishing you could head south and sneak a few more rounds out of 2017.

I'm on a roll so i'll have a go with this one.

The 75x driver shaft with stiff flex through the bag is a curious one. If I had to guess, you bought the driver with the X shaft intending to switch it out for a Stiff but found you like it. I used an Anser for a while last year, great head.

You don't care about the number on the bottom of the club, only how it performs, which is why you have an 18*, 19* and 21* clubs in your bag. I am one of those OCD people, and it would do my head in even if it works for me.

Your irons tell me that you thought long and hard before pulling the trigger on the hogans. My guess is that you thought about it for ages, and pulled the trigger when they reduced their prices once they hit financial troubles.

You are particular about wedges that set up nice and square, which is why you've stuck with the Mack Daddy 2 TG. I bet you also like the look of a set of 50/54/58 MD Forged wedges when these ones wear out.

I don't even know what an Omen #5 putter is, but I'm going to say its one you picked up in a store with no intention to buy, and happened to love it. You have have even tested it out against an OEM model that best matches it, but have chosen to stick with your trusty find. I bet it has the original grip on it too.

How did I do?
