Driver: 917D3 8.5 with Oban Kiyoshi Black XS

3 wood: Taylormade V steel 15* with Blue Tensei S

3 hybrid: Cobra Baffler 20* with Speeder black S

Irons: Cobra Forged CB 4-6 with KBS Tour 120's

Irons: Cobra Forged MB 7-9 with KBS Tour 120's

Wedges: Vokey SM7 46/50/54/58 with KBS Tour 120s

Putter: Scotty Cameron 5.5M

Bag: Ping 4 series

Ball: ProV1

My guess is that you're a 5 or less (although it's listed by your name as 3.1). You hit the ball a mile with that smaller D3 head and that low spin x-stiff shaft. You have an older club that you have no intention of getting rid of because it works.. In fact, that V steel 3-wood is an all time favorite (by many) and may never leave that bag. You like consistency, hence playing the same shafts in your irons and wedges (excellent shafts BTW). You finally updated your wedges last year to the SM7s but are realizing they feel no different than the previous SM models. Oh, and something tells me that there is a driving iron in your near future!

Here's my bags. Feel free to judge just one or both!:

Gamer set:

PING G400 w/ HZRDUS Black 62

TM '17 M2 3HL w/ HZRDUS Red 75

Miura '18 Tour Milled 52 & 58 w/ Modus3 120x

SC Studio Select Newport 2 Mid Slant (torched)

TaylorMade 2017 Supreme Cart Bag (All Black)

ProV1x

Retro-ish set:

Titleist 905R 9.5 w/ Diamana White Board 73g

Titleist 906f4 15.5 w/ Aldila VS Proto 80g

Titleist 690.CB 2-iron (raw) w/ Nippon Modus3 120x

Titleist 690.MB 3-PW (raw) w/ Nippon Modus3 120x

Vokey 200 Series 52 & 58 (raw) w/ Nippon Modus3 120x

SC Circa 62 No.2 (raw)

Titleist Players 14 2018 Stand Bag (Olive)

ProV1x

I would say you are more than likely scratch if not plus especially considering both sets of irons you are hitting.

I already know about you from conversations on the classics forum so I will be a sport and let the others guess---- Clue anyone who hits 99 Apex irons is a pretty good ball striker and Mac V- Foil wedges to boot. And I darn sure ain't gonna mess with a man who games a Hogan Princess putter he has to have cajones and a great putter to game that

This will be my 2019 bag

Driver: Ping G410 Plus - Set to Draw - Tour 65S Shaft

3W - Cobra F7 - Tensei Blue 60S

Hybrid - Titleist 816H1 - Diamana S+ 70R

Irons: Srixon Z585/785 - DG AMT Tour White S300

Wedges: 52 Callaway MD3, 56 Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth, 60 Ping Glide

Putter: Edel E-3

Ball: TP5x or Snell MTB

You tend to stay away from the marketing hoopla and go with what fits your game and dont mind a mixed bag.

From the looks of your bag you take testing the right clubs and shafts to fit your game not the other way around

That's pretty damn accurate. The driver, irons and putter I was all fitted for and went with what's best for me vs the "coolest" new item.

The 3W and Hybrid were cheap and place holders for now, in the fall I'll replace them after being fitted. The wedges same thing all cheap but I got one that work for me. Whenever those are replaced I'll again get fitted for what works for me.

So yeah I'm a guy that has to get everything fitted and go off the numbers along with my feel on the club.

You probably own a Mac computer because you like to be just a little different. You play what works for you, but you also like to stay out if mainstream clubs. Slightly quirky, but you can golf tour ball. I’m guessing a solid 3 handicap that fights hitting it high.

Haha spot on except for my handicap! :( Although Macs are ubiquitous today, back in 03 when I got a Mac laptop in college, it was definitely different. I’ve stayed with them ever since, so you’re right about that. And I would pay good money to be a 3. I’m around 9 currently - really got the golf bug in the last 2 years. I have my moments and nothing is major a problem in my game except consistency - whether that is hitting two great shots in a row, or having a round where tee, approach, chipping, and putting are all acceptable. I chalk it up to 30 years of playing twice a year (ie, carelessly hacking around) without any formal instruction until the last year.

I’m new to this thread (just posted my bag the other week), but I’ll give it a shot - but I’ll defer to others here for more insightful judgments.

You’re a traditionalist and can definitely move it around really well. The TS3 is maybe your first Titleist driver in a few years. You’ve been playing awhile and probably played a full Titleist bag back in the day and since you switched to Mizuno irons, you’ve been looking for an excuse to game a Titleist again. So when the TS3 came out you were all over it. You tell others your 3W isn’t getting taken out of the bag unless it breaks. You’d consider yourself a great ballstriker first and foremost, and your short game is good but is probably the area that you really want to improve at the moment. Index is <5, but wouldn’t be surprised at scratch.

Not that loyal as I've already swapped out P790s and 919 Forged. Driver will be replaced by either F9/M6 later this season. Hardest thing to change will be the TP5. Average drive is probably 245 carry/260 total. I am pretty good scrambler but play conservative enough to avoid scrambling as much as possible.

Good on you for pointing this out. I had given up on this thread long ago ...

You have an awesome bag, sir. I reckon:

* You can recite MtlJeff's intimidating bag article word for word.

* Since you only have 13 clubs, you always play the high-percentage shot. You don't do anything spectacular; you just bludgeon courses with fairways and greens.

* Based on your wedges, you're a feel player. You can call the length of a wedge shot within two yards as soon as you hit it.

* You'd put your child up for adoption before you part with your Cameron Laguna.

* You pi$$ excellence.

Well I would say you are loyal to a brand that treated you well in the past and dont show signs of changing anytime soon. You dont buy all the new marketing when what you have works so well. The shafts are all different but it means they all have a purpose and dont necessarily have to match. ......love the bag.....

HEHE! I began building my all Nike bag back in the Fall of 2018, for purely nostalgic reasons. You're right about my lack of interest in marketing gimmicks, but I am in love with all the new Mizuno ish. Will probably make an all Mizzy bag next. Project X shaft gives me better consistency vs the other 5 shafts I have with Nike Driver ferrules. Diamana came in the 3wood when purchased off the 'bay. Matrix shaft same deal as the Diamana. Regarding these shafts they just tend to work with what I need them for. Matrix helps me keep the flight down on my hybrid especially when i'm in the trees and need to get out. Diamana R in the 3wood launches high and holds almost any green I hit, which is the bees knees when theres a Par 5 I can reach in two (which doesn't happen often with my 250-260yd drives). Stubborn? I'll never be stubborn. I'll never change. =]

I'd say you love to hit a high draw and that you shoot upper 70s. You can find your away around the course and look like a pro to your average guys. You probably feel that if you could play as much as you wanted, you'd be a scratch golfer. But, time doesn't allow for that, and sticking with some of your trusty clubs keeps the game familiar when you can make it to the course.

Alright let's see- regarding your evaluation of me first: *Never would quote anything or take advice from a kicker, dude probably saw photo of one of my old set-ups and got "inspired by"?*play mostly conservatively off tee, not so much with irons/wedges* absolutely a feel player and vary 'traj' quite a bit with wedges, inadvertently offended a few players in group before with twirl of doom?*like the Laguna quite a bit, replacement for one went missing years ago, would absolutely be a problem for anyone to even touch my old lead-taped BeCu Zing2 putter though!

*was told testing was for certain certifications I keep, guess you really explained it?

Regarding my guess about you:

Solid player that is not opposed to trying newer stuff in long game, yet only will change if better than previous stuff. Very particular about shaft profile/feel, probably more of a feel player and swinger of club that either delofts or launches ball low, prefers feel of bit of kick in shaft to get ball in proper window. You watch older footage of Tiger, Hideki, and Adam Scott and tell anyone that will listen "dude knows what's up on shafts" while people look at you uncomfortably.?Seriously, you know AD DI profile suits you, so why change?

You're a feel player that is very accurate with irons and wedges and all about consistency, not bragging about distances from strong lofts.

The putter could throw many off, either don't make as many as used to so trying new way to make a few more, or truly believe in fitting of flatstick since that's where the money is made.

Would guess you are a solid 5 handicap that used to be a few lower who plays fast, still has a competitive streak, yet still knows how to enjoy friendly, relaxed round as well. Would plant a tee with you anytime.?
