Jean style golf pants

Watching the Champions Tour event this week, more than half the field had on pants with jeans styling. I came home and looked online, and the prices are sort of staggering if you are looking that the name brands.

Has anybody found pants like this that are really good, comfortable AND affordable? Cool weather is coming...

When it gets wet and cold by me I have a pair of Wrangler relaxed fit jeans I bought at Target a few years ago. They are comfortable and they keep me warmer than my regular golf pants. I’ve looked at buying some of the golf pants for colder weather but I can’t really justify the price for the few rounds I play in really cold weather.

$15 bucks at old navy. I have a few pairs and some that are basically identical I got at a gap outlet. They have a regular and a slim fit, and there's a bit of stretch to them.

Per prior posts make sure you stay within established dress codes for a given site. Sometimes in the off-season dress codes are relaxed slightly.

By "jeans style" i assume you mean some of the common 5 pocket pants made with the performance materials of golf pants. Almost everyone makes a 5 pocket style pant, which has a jeans look. I really like the ping ones i have

I have the ping player pants in navy and asphalt and a pair of footjoy 5 pocket in grey , both brands have a great fit .

PGA Tour brand and Dockers performance five pocket pants. The Dockers are the better choice for cool temps. They're a cotton/polyester,elastine blend. I got them on Amazon.

Bonobos and Dunning make what you want but you’ll have to pay up. Although Bonobos does run some frequent sales.

A lot of the ones you saw on the Champions Tour this weekend were Lululemon ABC pants. Old men are attracted to Lululemon stuff like flies to honey.

Duer and Heritage 34 are literally exactly what you're looking for.

Check out the Greg Norman 5 pockets pants as well. Sold through Macy's. Great pants!! I have seen them as low as $8.99 in-store.

I use a pair of Eddie Bauer flannel lined jeans in the winter. Very warm, and can be used for any other activity. Different fit styles available. I like the relaxed fit.

5 pocket pants are becoming more and more popular. Not only on the golf course, but for casual wear as well. I had a few pair of Old Navy Go Dry pants and I can say that you get what you pay for. If I put my hands in my pocket with some pressure down, I can hear the seams ripping, but they are comfortable and affordable.

If you don't have to have that tech fabric, these pants are a great option. I have a few pairs that I wear to work and occasionally on the golf course. They feel like your average chinos with stretch. Unfortunately, the colors are now limited

If you have a Nordstrom Rack by you, you can usually find some nice 5 pocket slim pants for like $29.99 or less. I picked up some Original Penguins there for that price.

take a look at some of the outdoorsy brands like North face and Patagonia, I haven't pulled the trigger on any but pretty much all those companies have good looking 5 pocket pants that are reasonable ~70-80ish range

Please say no to denim. (slight sarcasm) I wouldn't wear denim on the course. However! - I do own 2 pairs of very cheap (Target, about $20) Wrangler pants that are khaki in color, snug-fitting, and very nice on the golf course. They are a like thin, khaki jeans. Check them out if you get the chance. My wife says she likes how they fit on me too...(eyebrow wiggling here)...

I have some from old navy and one from mavi jeans. They aren’t denim & i love the style too. The old navy ones are cheap and very comfortable

I'm only looking for something to wear when it gets too cool for shorts; I've got great cold weather gear. And I won't wear denim on the golf course even if dress codes change. I've been wearing several pairs of Columbia pants as golf pants for a number of years now, but the cuffs are fraying and they're nearing the end of the life cycle if I need to dress nicely for golf; tournament play or as a guest somewhere.

But seeing all those old guys (I'm 67) wearing the 5 pocket/jean style pants in a "performance fabric" was interesting. Then on Saturday, I was playing as a guest at the "old money" club here in town, and the head pro had on a pair of LuLuLemons. I'm not interested in that price, but this thread has given me some good ideas to pursue.

this! I have a pair of grey and khaki ones from Old Navy

The Nikes are pretty nice. They're standard fit but I'm pretty slim and wear them and they work out fine

Dockers. Soft cotton feel, with a little bit of stretch. Different weights for different temperatures. With my wife’s Macy’s rewards, we got them for $32 a pair.

Bonobos mentioned above, but I recommended their non-golf branded Tech 5 pocket. Look great on and off the course, great for travel also, and a fit for all builds. The golf lightweight 5 pocket have that strange seem behind the knee, the zipper back pocket, the little extra pocket... all unnecessary.

Yea I dont understand that seam behind the knee with the Bonobos 5 pocket.

Its barely noticeable though.

I've been wearing Outlier Slim Dungarees for a few years now (Black and Navy). Great 5 pocket pant. They are a little slim but have great stretch and water resistances. I have the older versions so they aren't as slim as the newest versions, but have seen office use, plane/train travel, golf, biking, hiking, and camping.

Just left Burlington, there are MULTIPLE manufactures offering this type of pant for under $20 there

So, under the heading of "Never do what you can overdo"...

I bought three pairs of 5 pocket twills at Old Navy yesterday for $15 each; very nice pants at that price. Then today, on a trip to Costco, I find Kirkland 5 pocket twills for $16.99 each; one notch nicer than the Old Navy's, so of course I bought three pairs of those, too.

So six pairs of pants in 24 hours, total expenditure of $96 plus tax. It's a disease...

Bought a pair of Bonobos 5 pocket gray lightweight and they are my favorite golf pants. In fact, wore them to work today with a nice sweater and golf shirt underneath.

nike 5 pocket slim fit are the best I have found, AG Jeans also has some good ones.
