This works on the Champions Tour, where they can hop into a golf cart and catch up quickly.

I think these interview are quite interesting providing the interviewer asks good questions, eg. Tim Barter, otherwise they can seem awkward.

Of course I wouldn't criticise any player that takes a pass and Brooks isn't the first plus the incident with G-Mac on the ET might have other players re-thinking.

No interviews in the middle of competition. Before or after only.

His prerogative. I agree that if I was in his shoes I would do the same.

That horse has already bolted and its here to stay. Some players will opt out and that's their prerogative but many get involved as there are obvious benefits.

I understand his position. They're not for everybody. But in regards to McDowell's situation, the ET could always modify their stance and state that any player who agrees to one of the on course interviews will not be subject to a warning for his next shot.

I'd rather hear more player/caddie cub selection debates and shot discussion, as that would be more authentic. If we think some of these guys sound like robots pre and post round, during the competition will be even worse.

Brooks looks uncomfortable giving interviews period. Not surprising he wouldn't do one mid-round.

All he has to do is drop a few choice words during his first one and they won't in-round interview him ever again.

The interviews in round definitely seem to have made the European Tour rounds that bit more watchable. I can get why some people are not keen on them but my how the narrative has changed from this time last year when Brooks was getting upset that no one wanted to speak to him before or after his round either.

Why amswer silly questions when you're trying to concentrate on winning a golf tournament?

Hard to get into the zone when someone is asking you to reflect on the first 9 holes.

I like those in round interviews, the quality obviously depends on how willing the players are to stray out of the usual stereotypical answers.

Some players are great, others are completely bland and just state the obvious. Same goes for the journalists though, but from what I've seen so far they always try to be quick and concise which can be tricky.
