Favorite Hybrids ?

I use a Ping g25 20 & 23 also a Ping g30 26. They are looking pretty beat up and at some point will need to be replaced, but they are my favorites. I think they look so much better without the turbulators.

2nd favorite hybrids are the Titleist H1.

Can't go wrong with the H1 from Titleist. Easy to hit high or low, and with the C1 setting they are VERY hard to hook lol. I have mine in B1 and can work a draw or a fade with it. About to buy a 25* to replace my 5 iron I think.

Adams Super 9031 and the original XTD Super Hybrid for me.

I have a 23* with an s300 for my 4 iron replacement, and a 20* with a Steefiber 110 shaft for a 3 iron option. The other one that I switch it out with is a 19* Adams XTD Super Hybrid with a 95g Black Tie. That club goes high and straight. I can flight it a little lower, but not low enough for those 20 mph winds, which is why I got the 20* Super 9031.

Me and hybrids do not get along with each other. That said, through all that I've tried, the 2019 Apex is as good as it gets for me.

Pretty much everyone has figured out how to make good hybrids these days, but I would still highly recommend trying Cobra hybrids out. I think the Bio Cells are their best ever, and you can get them for pennies on ebay. The F series are all great as well. I've tried them all as well as some Titleists, CAllies, TM, PIng and Adams, but keep coming back to Cobra. Whatever you do, find one that you like looking at since they all seem to perform well nowadays.

The new Mizuno clk hybrids are probably the best looking.

Also, TM took over Adams tech when they bought them and they should be considered too, but hey....

He also has liked the Titleist 816h1 or h2, both are sweet but would also look at 818s but JP hasn’t hit those...

Gotcha, don’t talk about fight club...

I swear I bought something on there and I thought it would disappear. They kept the listing up ! Must have a lot of some things.

I really think how the club is adjusted really makes a difference. I have noticed with my swing, that the 3/4 hybrid works best at the 20.5 setting. When I move it up or down, I don't hit it as well. The same goes for the 2/3. If I set it to 17.5, I hit the 2/3 really good. Crank it up or down I don't hit it as well. I am guessing it has to do with my swing and the face angle being manipulated with the adjustment.

Loved my old G25 & G30 hybrids.... however recently I tried the Cobra F8 and I don't think it will ever leave my bag. I have it in 22* and it's an amazing little monster. Get's me out of everywhere (i shouldn't be) but it's also great ff the fairway and tee.

I don't know if this is worthy of a new topic, but I'm interested to hear on what some people's favorite hybrid shafts are out there? Any Aldila fans (Tour Green or NV2KXV)? I'm having huge success with an old Tour Green driver shaft that I can't get out of the bag and thinking of purchasing the matching Hybrid or something in a similar profile.

> Without a doubt Adams Pro A12's best ever, still playing them. If you can find any Adams Hybrids in good shape grab them.

Another one of these threads on golfwrx got me buying and becoming an instant fan of the following: Adams Idea Pro A12 (in 16 degree), Adams Idea Super LS (in 17 degree) and finally the OG Taylormade Rescue Mid TP (in 14 degree). They are constantly being swapped out for one another, and can't seem to find new clubs that feel that much better than these old guys. Anybody else have any of these "oldies but goodies" still in their bags?

On a side note : since leaving the glorious junior golf days/having a single digit handicap..... (sounds weird, right? you're supposed to only get better, not worse, am I right?!?!?!) But I'm all to blame, I have not put any time into the game and only get maybe 3 or 4 rounds year. Career keeps me traveling or stuck in the office most of the year, but I am thankful for what's left of my swing. With the lack of play, came the inability to hit a 3 wood off the deck. For that single reason, I have since opted for the lowest degree hybrids as a solution to my forever toppage of the ball (when honing a 3 wood in hand).

I think HYBRIDS should be divided into two segments...

1. Iron style like U65, Apex UT, etc.

2. Fairway Wood style like JPX850, COBRA F7, Original XTD Adams, etc.

Based on having tried everything since the original TM Firesole hybrid...

1. Apex UT. By far the easiest to hit with minimal back cavity protrusion. I like that you can change the weight depending on your shaft choice, length, and swing weight preference.

2. TM RESCUE. Its gone through few makeovers with each generation, but it was always reliable which is what you want from a hybrid.

The very name “hybrid” is a result of a iron and fairway wood combination. Utility irons are a bit different. Utilities, UDI, or whatever you want to call them are just a GI/SGI long iron.

A couple of year out-of-date, but I really like my Cobra FlyZ hybrids.

The FlyZs and their Cobra younger brothers offer the 2-3H, 3-4H, 4-5H and 5-6H. The flexibility you get is amazing. I play the 3-4H set at 19* (3H neutral) and the 4-5H set at 22* (4H neutral). This allows you to manipulate the shaft length without taking a saw to the shaft itself. Since I have the two hybrids set at minimum loft, I actually get a slight fade from a square stance. Not bad for a club category maligned as _hook machines._ This helps in two ways:

* I hit a slight draw as my stock shot. The fade helps give me another option without unduly maniuplating my swing plane.

* If I close the stance on a hybrid, I can get that slight draw as with my other shots. (Really handy for tee shots on those short, tight par 4 holes from hell.)

Another feature is the shafts. All my other shafts are R-flex. The FlyZs work best with the 75-gram A/senior flex. Not many heavy senior flex shafts out there, but the FlyZs just work with this set-up.

Note: I carry the 4H regularly, and add the 3H in fall when rough is thinner and the winds stronger. The 3H replaces the high-launch 7W in these conditions.

Ive tried a few over the years the older cally Apex were long bombers, but i flit between a TM M3 #2H and i TM GAPR Mid #3

Benefit i have depending on conditions and how im swinging i feel more confident with the 2H but i can swap my Oban shaft between the two models.

Have a Tensi Blue back upshaft in whichever one isnt in use which goes well too. We have such a short course PAR 66 (No par 5's) that being in position is key hence the reason for having both to choose from

Old Adams A12 in the garage 4iron is a trusty solid hitter for the £40 it cost.

Never really been able to get on with Titleist Hybrids or the Cobra ones.
