What putter did you just buy ?

Just bought from a fellow WRXer. Wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the CH but it really addresses the ball nicely. Added 3.0 SS, beautiful looking stick.

Just picked up this Odyssey Metal X Milled 330M, in really shape for its age. I was using a Cleveland Huntington Beach 10 and that made me want to try the MXM. It has a great carbon feel to it.

Lastly my favorite putter cover of all time. Its weathered and beat to hell but I love the wrap around magnetic closure.

Posted this in the lefty purchases but thought I'd share with the putter addicts too. Toulon Garage is the nicest group and they got this to me in about 2 weeks. The certificate they included was metal too which was a nice little touch. I took about 15 pictures of it along with headcover, shaft band, etc but just wanted to cut to the chase here.

FYI- It's an Atlanta with black pearl finish top site line, standard paintfill, black shaft, standard grip, and 20g sole weight. I love the feel and it's just so smooth on putts within 10 feet and alignment is a no brainer.

i think that this is the nicest shape on the market right now. Maybe one day i will pick one as a graduation gift

I'm a SBST pendulum style putter - it's the only style of putting that I find gets my ball rolling on the intended line more often than not. This year I've been well above average (for me) on longer putts but really pretty terrible on shorter putts. The speed has been fine, I've just been pushing and pulling everything just enough to lip out or burn the edge of the cup an insane amount. I'm currently using a White Hot RX 2-Ball, which feels totally fine to me. I've also long been of the belief that any decent putter should be able to putt with whatever putter they grab.

Anyways, I was killing time in Golf Galaxy the other week and messed around with a bunch of their putters. The Odysseys, Scotties, Bettis, whatever, they all rolled the ball pretty much the same as I'm used to. But then I picked up a putter that I've always avoided because I find them hideous: a SeeMore. And I started draining putts. Not just draining, but nailing the center of the cup consistently. Uh oh.

This started me on a journey to find a good center-shafted putter. The whole alignment thing of the SeeMore didn't really do anything for me, but I loved how the center-shaftedness looked to my eye. I'm pretty sure I'd never before putted with anything that wasn't a heel-shafted putter.

Anyways, I landed on a 33" Cleveland Huntington Beach 6c with the Winn oversized grip. Can you go wrong with a milled face putter from a decent brand for around $100? I think it's worth a shot. We'll see.

What is the feel like off the pxg putters? Been tempted to buy and try one beacause some of the shapes they have and how they look are second to none imo. Only concern i've been playing milled scotty newports for a while so kind of gotten used to that feel/sound.

Picked up a TeI 3 Xperimental Scotty in mint condition, figured what the hell, just keep it in good shape and consider it an investment that will retain its value at worst! Also, sure beats the Button Back price-hike these days!

My Cleveland Huntington Beach 6c arrived today. It's insane how cheap this putter is for the apparent quality. It feels nice and solid and weighty and the milling is beautiful. Nice headcover, too.

I've mostly used insert putters so I figured moving to a milled face would be an adjustment. I took it out to the practice green this afternoon and definitely like the feel of it. I was dead on with short and medium putts. I tried a few extremely long putts (longer than any green I'll see tomorrow morning) and my distance control was... not good. I figure that'll take some time. I think I'll risk putting in the bag for tomorrow.

I love the HB line of putters. I used a #6 for over a year and still have a #8. The only reason I moved to the PING Sigma G Kushin was distance control issues with the HB line. Anything within about 12 feet was great, but I struggled with pace on long putts. The Kushin has been working much better...could be the insert, weight, grip, or just mentally needing a change. Keep us updated on if you manage to dial in the distance control.

An Edel Torque Balanced E-1. I’m absolutely desperate to putt better. I carry a scratch handicap and putt like a 10 at best. I’m beginning to understand why guys on tour turn to broom handles and/or strapping the thing to their arm.

I used to caddy for a few guys that swore by their old Ping putters and stuck by them even as Scotty's started getting popular around the club.

Recently, I've started to miss a few too many makeable putts with my Odyssey White Hot 1 and watching a friend game his dad's My Day got me thinking about finding one of Karsten's finest for myself.

In the last month or so, I've seen some gems around the state and wound up picking up a Pal 2 BeCu and a Karsten Co Anser. Both are a joy to putt with. I will say the Anser takes the cake on overall feel and sound.

NIce Karsten Co - those are great all time classics.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Taking advantage of GG labor day coupon offers, I picked a Taylormade Juno copper and a Scotty Pro Platinum Mid-slant in very good shape, both pre-owned together for under $200. Interesting thing the scotty has a grip by Bobby Duke, made of dense foam and very different feel from any grip I have used before. Had to look up who Bobby Duke was and learned that it is the lightest grip there is at 32g. It actually works really well and gives the PP a nice weighted feel. https://www.amazon.c...n/dp/B077SBTSP6

PP Mid-slant was my very first Scotty. It was so beat up when I got it that it didn't survive the restoration process from the Custom Shop. The incident had since prompted the Custom Shop to change its policy to not accepting putters with modified finish. Beside the point that it is a great putter, there's a little bit of sentimental value to find one again.

Oh I also have Betti being delivered today... :to_become_senile: Found one with FIT face for a great price and couldn't pass it up.

Also unique about it, the first step on the shaft is something like 11-12" - haven't seen many outside of the 7" and 9" range. Glad to be it's next, and probably final, owner.
