i personally LOVE IT when one of our own gets to shine on the bigger stage. The vast majority of us are destined to hack it around at our local munis for the rest of our golfing days!

I agree with Mad this should be pinned up front somewhere for the whole community to see !! I have always enjoyed your posts Sammy.. your wit comes though everytime ! Know that you have gained a fan here with me, i watch LPGA quite a bit and would love to see you become a regular.. If you have the tee to green game ( you do ) then you can get the greens figured out .. just keep grinding away !

I woulds say probably not to that one. The only coverage i saw was the radio station ESPN 104.5 had a small area set up doing possibly live interviews. Seeing as my status is kind of low , i may get into another or two this year.

Sammy that is AWESOME! You've achieved yet another level that most of us can only dream about!!!

 

You probably would have putted better than me , but i understand. I see the dreamers on here ands peoples shoot them down a lot. My first golf tournament played was October 2012. I played all of 2013 in small things ands two state events. I skipped 2014 after a terrible instruction search wasted the year. Then i was introduced to Geoff Jones in 2015 ands one year later i have gotten to this point. It is not the top ands i still have struggles , but that is only two full years of actual competition. I am sure others could do things they want to.

 

I am probably not popular or liked enough for coverage on here , nor am i asking for any.

 

I hit 5 iron to about 15 feet on the par 3 18th on Saturday ands the little gallery in the stands gave applause. They moved the tee back to have it playing a little over 180 yards. That was actually the most enjoyable part of the whole experience to answer that question somebody asked.

 

The putting is more bad technique probably. I may try to find a putter expert to try to improve that. I just do nots know any around my area.

Congrats Sammy, I will be following along in your journey. Keep your head down and stay focused. Ignore the negative comments as some people like to rain on others parade to make themselves feel better. When in all reality they are just jealous that you are where you are at in the game of golf and they aren't!

 

Good luck on the putting. I just got fitted for my new one and I went from 30ish puts to 25. I can't believe the confidence that it gave to me and I would have NEVER picked the putter I ended up with!
