Man do I trade in my 2015 Vapor stuff now!?

Drive as fast as you can to Golfsmith before they take a break and see this thread. You might be the last person on earth who gets more than 25% of retail.

I already have a trade in ready to go to global! But now I'm debating.

Look on the bright side, a year from now you can say they are vintage.

I just got a notification for this off the wire as well. It's really big news considering how much money and R&D Nike sank into clubs and design. I'm wondering if they will sell of that part of the business or just fold it.

I'm pretty sure it won't affect any players contracts and I'm sure we'll continue to see Rory, Tiger, et al in Nike branded clothing. It will probably open them up to additional equipment contracts and will be interesting to see if Rory and Tiger go back to Titleist or end of somewhere else.

Will be a fun few months for sure...

Can we all agree now that VOLT was a mistake?

No. It's weird to me that everyone cares so much about the color of their clubs. Personally, I enjoy the colors and Nike's signature volt color, but I also don't care enough to actively avoid a company because of it.

Nike balls and bags are top notch, and I'll miss them. I never played Nike equipment because I'm a beginner who relies on forgiving a** clubs, and that is not Nike's forte.

It's awesome to see how everyone has an opinion on Nike equipment. Especially the ones who never used their stuff. Sure you find it great to see a competitor drop from the race. Those of us that actually enjoy it and use it though, this sucks. I love my equipment. I've tried to play Callaway and Titleist, neither sat well with me. I know this is going to get buried, but to those of you who have something to say, yet never used Nike, just don't bother. We understand that you chose something else for what ever reason.

I know a lot of Nike users would would be saddened to see another equipment company fall like this. There's no need to drop your hate here.

No Sir. I have a plethora of volt woods in the garage of the black and blue variety.

I can't believe I am typing this, but I REALLY want to know what the Big Cat is going to play now. I just hope he doesn't do something boring like sign with TM or Callaway. I want to see him put together a bag of what he thinks works. Even if he can't hit a wedge 100 yards any longer.

So I've heard... A long term partnership may have been best and mutually beneficial. sports equipment was never the thing they did best.

Am I in the minority here thinking that their equipment was mehh at best anyhow? The notable exception may be their balls. In hindsight maybe they should love partnered with someone like mizuno or miura?

Nike did do one set by miura. The set I currently game. The vrs forged heads were bought by Nike from miura in the limited set. Nike just stamped their stuff on it.

I hope they buy TM and keep on all of the staff. With them dropping out of the equipment game that means that the current reps will be laid off. I know in this area the girl was just hired on and would be a terrible situation for her. I doubt that they would have someone to just sell shoes all day.

Well son of a B... Fu.. I guess everything I saw in the 2017 thread is moot.. Sure makes sense to drop price if you are getting out of the industry.. what the fu... My entire golf life has been Nike, guess I need to swoop of a set of vapor pros or pro combos for when my VRs die. This is depressing. I thought for sure TM would die first ha.

Never quite understood why Nike golf equipment never really took off. Their clubs have always been high quality and not unreasonably priced. Their apparel and bags/shoes etc have always sold well, it's just their clubs that just never really caught on. I never had any nike gear myself but that's more coincidence than intentional.

If Tiger comes back, all eyes will be on him to see who he signs a club deal with. Again, IF he comes back, I would bet he continues to use his Nike clubs for awhile until he tests other equipment. He could sign with anther OEM or be a free agent and use whatever he wants.

Well he's got 6+ months to test.
