Kirkland Signature (Costco) golf balls (MERGED) (NO BST POSTS)

Two versions that have been released. The Original 4 piece KSig (360 dimples) and the 3 piece ball that is available now. There is a new 4 piece ball (338 dimples, new side stamp) that has been on the USGA conforming ball list for months but has not been sold yet. The original 4 piece KSig ball is likely dead and gone.

Yeah because the cover sucked.

The new 4 piece is decent. The 3 piece is actually a very choice ball, in my mind. It has a little too much sheen / shimmer on it but, it's a very decent ball. Neither are better than Snell MTB black or red but, they're definitely alright.

Whoa! Hold on there, Mr. Staight Shooter. What do you know about the new K-sig 4 piece ball? You've played this ball... under what circumstances?

So more Kirklands available in time for Christmas?

The K3 has been available since its release earlier this year. There is a new 4 piece KSig ball on the conforming list. However it's not the same ball as the original KSig. The original KSig has been removed from the USGA ball list.

So there have been three versions of the KSig? I was told there were only 2.

There's only been one version of the 4 piece, and I've found the cover no different than that of a ProV1. Is there something we should know about you hitting the unreleased as of yet 4 piece?

What ball is most like the Ksig4? My stash is nearing an end and I've loved the ball. Want to find something that's as close as possible to it.

Been so long since I've hit anything else I can't recall what the TP5/PV1/etc balls were like.

Have you ever tried the MG C4 ?

good ball good price.

One of the golf ball outlets had a helluva deal on ProV's that were used on the range at tournaments this year. They were something like $15/dozen. Have only heard the comparison to our beloved KSig though.

There are still plenty to be had online, ebay etc. I mean if you really love the ball is it not worth $30 a dozen?

UPDATE:

I am a 14-18 Handicapped, on a slow day on 4 holes, I hit 1 Original 4 piece KSig, 1 New 3 piece KSig, 1 Pro-V1.

Results are ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NO fricking difference worth noting,,

Par 3- 160 yards , 7 iron, all 3 within a radius of 17-20 Feet

Par 4- 3 wood all in fairway within 5 yards

Par 4 - Driver, 3 piece on right side of fairway, other two 15 feet in the rough, right side.

Par 5- all 3 stayed in fairway, about 260-265

Winner? Ksigs, because during the rest of round, I hit a couple in deep rough and did not feel like spending any time looking for balls ( I have 16 dozen 4 piece and 8 dozen 3 piece) ,, so I tossed one in the first cut and played on,,,, wont do that for $40 a dozen Pro-V 1's !!!!!! the sleeve I have were given to me.

My unscientific conclusion? Unless your a low single digit golfer, its a physiological.

Agree the only other consideration is color. I understand Cut is coming out with a Yellow Cut Blue and if so it would be the best option for a budget yellow tour ball along with Snell MTB Yellow. (not forgetting Srixon when they have their deals either)

Again, this is an unscientific test, your results may vary:

Test balls: KSIG 3 Piece and SRIXON Q-Star Tour.

When hit with a 9 iron, the SINK rate into a green-side pond is IDENTICAL !!!!!!!

How many times did you do the test Sir?

Nothing can beat DP4s thorough testing of the sink rate at Arrowhead last year.

Two years ago. Last year I was the only one in the group that hit the green. Come on V...let's get your facts straight.

Not disputing your findings but a more thorough test is needed. You said there was about a six yard variable with a 7 iron. This is a decent amount but expected. Take a sleeve of identical balls and try to get all three within six yards with a 7 iron. I’ve done the same sort of testing at times. Teeing off with two different balls. Sometimes ball A won, sometimes ball B won. It takes a lot of testing to come to an accurate finding.

Only once, third ball a Noodle, hit 3 feet from hole, easy 6 !!!!

Wait, does that mean noodles are better than Ksigs AND Srixons on par 3's with water hazards ?!???!?!?

I don't have nearly the swing to validate any tests,,, be great if someone with a iron byron would do a test,,,

*LOL* Thanks DP$ !!!! Only thing my testing has proven is that I suck at golf but love sucking at it,,,,,,,,

Next test,,,, do Hybrids fly further than long irons when thrown horizontally after shanking one off the middle of the fairway? ,,,,,,,
