If they are really new, current model KIRKLAND balls then at that price I think we finally have a contender for the title of All Time Leader in bargain, high performance golf balls. Back in the day, I was one of those who took advantage that ridiculous Taylormade LETHAL practice ball deal somebody was offering. Can't remember the exact price but it was triple dozens for maybe $10 or $20.

It's taken a decade or more for that deal to finally be challenged. Now I just need to go back and figure out how much exactly we paid for the LETHAL deal, adjust for inflation and see if KIRKLAND PRACTICE has undercut the LETHAL PRACTICE price per ball.

Ah...the Lethal deal courtesy of WOOT!  Based on how they created a SKU, the ball was about $0.25/each.  Still have a few Lethals and just loved that ball.

The price was raised to $27.99 in store when I went last week.  There was a mention a few pages back of other folks seeing the price increase in their local stores as well.  I don't know if prices vary by state or region though.

$27.99 - $4.00 = $23.99. The sale is from 6/16 - 7/3.

Odd... I bought a box yesterday for my father in law, and they were marked still at 27.99 in store.

I've since thrown away the receipt so it's possible I was only charged 23.99? But wrongly marked prices are not something I'm used to seeing at Costco...

Ping G25 10.5* w/ Diamana 'ahina 70 x5ct stiff (set -0.5 to 10*)

Sub70 Pro Tour 5w w/ Aldila NV NXT 85 stiff

Wishon EQ1-NX 4h, 5i-GW single-length built to 37.5" w/ Nippon Modus3 120 stiff

Sub70 286 52/10, 286 56/12, and JB 60/6 wedges, black, built to 36.75" w/ Nippon Modus3 120 stiff

Ahh. Turns out there was a $4 discount on the receipt. So I guess it was just wrongly marked in the warehouse.

I think I may finally be getting over my "too spinny off the driver" fear.  I've started getting off the tee better and and have hit some of the drives of my life lately.  Not good by WRX standards (probably a WRX 7 iron), but crushed them by my standards.  If I can learn to do that consistently I'd be totally satisfied with that performance....I'm not going to hit anything 300 yards that doesn't have an engine in it.

Of course now that My driver is coming around, my short game has abandoned me.  Sometimes I hate golf.

Trying to figure out the target market for those irons...

85g graphite shaft... In stiff?

Wouldn't it seem like a lot of the players who are playing 85 gram graphite are probably a little on the slower swing speed edge and may need regular shafts, and a lot of the players who need stiff shafts for their swing are playing iron shafts a little heavier?

I got the MMT 80 stiff in my irons, I’m 82-85 SS. I like them just fine. I’m pushing 60 and need a little more dampening than what steel offers.

Yeah, I'm sure there's a market. It just seems like a combination that wouldn't be the biggest potential customer base that they could be targeting.

I almost went graphite myself, but that was Steelfiber i110 in stiff, ending up in Modus Tour 120 in stiff. Steelfiber felt really good but I was hitting the Modus better. But I'm also an outlier (6'5" 270 lbs, 43 yo) so I like the heavier weight despite the fact that my swing speed isn't WRXlike (~100 mph driver).

I would have thought the bulk of the market is more in the 95-105g range.

FWIW - there are only 4 stock options on the Honma site for those irons.  85g graphite in regular and stiff and 105g steel in regular and stiff.

Costco probably got overruns so that might explain the 85g s

Yeah, I had considered that maybe they were selling those because those were the specs Honma had trouble working through inventory.

I wonder how many people buying golf clubs at Costco know the difference between the different flexes, let alone shaft weight.

Dunno, but i‘ll give them the benefit of the doubt, they do know a good deal on the Kirkland ball by the factor how many you can find find in the woods

I found a Ksig ball and decided to try it...liked the feel so bought a box just for the hell of it. Been playing them for a couple weeks now, just got my third ace ever with one last Tuesday. My first hole-in-one was with a Top Flight Magna...haha, that was quite a while ago I guess. I think I'll keep playing the Costco ball, I'm cheap anyway.
