46 mp into a 50 vokey

I really don’t manipulate the trajectory with the 46 like I do with the vokey. Also it makes me work on in between distances with my short irons more (8,9,PW) making me have 6 scoring clubs in my bag instead of 4.

Well most of new pw is 46 so it is the same. I have my pw set 46 and played all last season with a 52 gw. But the gap was too big. So i just bought a 48 and my plan is to either play the pw, bent the 48 to 49, the 52 to 53 and keep my 58. Or bent my 9 iron weaker, ditch the pw, add the 48 but at 47, play the 52 and 58 as they are... not sure what im.going to do.

I naturally hit the ball high with a lot of spin so the newer 46* PW are fine by me.

I prefer the set PW as I like it to feel closer to my 9 iron vs a lofted wedge (then you got to consider bounce, grind and shaft selections) since most of PW play is from the fairways.

From there I just go to a 52* and 58*.

If a 52* is not enough to get here, I’ll choke down half an inch on the PW to dial it back. Similarly, with the 52-58 equation.

I never really understood these 4 wedge vs 3 wedge debates?

My 48 deg PW compliments very well with the other wedges (which are also are 845s).

In Fall 2016 I decided to refit with 48 + 54 + 60 (see below). It has simplified my short game.

Before that, I had four seasons with 46° PW (X20 Tour) and 50°, 54°, 58° in Cleveland CG14. I noticed two things: with four wedges, I had distance overlaps in several partial-swing cells. Also, in most rounds I would end up using either the PW or the GW for fluffy greenside chips. No particular reason why I chose one or the other.

I found I could grip down a little to shave off yardage, or play the wedge back just a tad to add a couple. Also, the high-toe MD-PM 60° works amazingly well. I also include the 9i in my partial swing matrix.

PW & GW from set (i20's -- that GW is really good!) and pretty much only full shots.

54* & 58* Gorge wedges give me even gapping on full shots and then I only use the wedges for anything 100 yds and in.

46,50,54,58 glide 2’s at the moment.

Last year was 46f,50f,56f (at 55), 60m Vokeys

I like all the wedges to have the same look and feel and lots of bounce, although I may go 46,50 ping and 56f bent to 55 and 58D bent to 59 this year.

I’m a big fan of the 56F Vokey so I may have to work it back into the lineup with the new 58 D grind.

I replace my iBlade PW with a Glide 46* depending on the course, both are about the same distance, difference is the spin, on harder greens I use the 46*, on regular greens I use the set PW...love them both...like mentioned above my wedges are PW/46*, 50, 54 and 58

I play a 48 RTX 2.0, I like it, much more workable, but of course more room for error. Very easy to get wayyy under and balloon on full swings.

Both.... :scare2: When I got the P790's it caused too big of a gap between my existing wedge set up and the PW. So I got a 48* bent 1/2* weak to 48.5* to fill the gapping properly and took my 4 HYB out because the 5i should eliminate that need. Guess we'll see how it works out!

47° Pitching wedge from my set then a 50° or 52° gap wedge. It gaps perfectly from my 9 iron and is more forgiving on full shots than a specialist wedge. Not really sure what advantage there would be in bagging a 47° specialist wedge. It's really a 10 iron anyway (or 9 in traditional lofts) so I view the 50/52° wedge as my truly versatile pitching wedge for shots around the green.

Which do you carry and why?

I have the '18 Callaway MB PW bent to 48*, and I use it instead of a 48* MD4 wedge because I typically don't hit chip and pitch shots with less loft than my 54* sand wedge. I also find it relatively easy to hit the MB PW different distances and trajectories.
