Anyone else’s having issues with the max going right? Picked one up with a xtorsion copper 9 degree. Can’t get it to go Even A little left

Seems to just bleed right with a good swing worse with not so good swing Tried various shafts I know fit me with same results.

Defective head?

I found the Max hard to turn over, but it did like to go straight. The regular G400 head is easier to work side to side for me, but it also likes to go straight. Slightly more demanding but still as forgiving as anything out there. I found the Max just liked to go straight, not a bad thing, but never had a problem losing it right or left. These G400 line is so good it's hard to believe sometimes...

In favor of the regular g400. I'll most likely be bringing the TS3 back for store credit. It was a launch monitor queen I guess. If I get the itch I'll try the ts2 but for now the g400 is about as good as it gets for me.

I've got the same setup and yes, I have a hard time getting it to go left. For me though it's a good thing as I was struggling with a two way miss with my GBB, so at least I've removed one side of the course. Quite happy aiming for the left side of the fairway and either hitting it straight or a small cut but I definitely struggle to get a draw out of it when I need it.

I think with the weight in center/rear of head, it's made for moi/forgiveness rather then shaping prowess. I had a bit of a learning curve(lol) getting it to go straight, trail leg a bit closed helped.

Def easier to get an m3 with toe weights in front/toe of head closed IMO

Yep! My peak height lowered when I put the hazerdus black in there...it was the stock Alta 55 before tho. Never tried the yellow, but on paper the switch should help

Sounds like what I’m experiencing. I was thinking the same thing about taking one side of fairway out of play. I’ll mess with it and try a few more shafts. Need to just go get fit !!

When it comes in....I play at 44". Fairway finder.

My G400 LST came in about 2 weeks ago with the Tour 65x shaft. I compared it to my M4 and although it was maybe 10-15 yards shorter if I compare solid strikes, I was able to thread the needle on a few of the tighter holes at my home course and I'd rather have precision and find fairways than be 30 yards past my group but behind a tree or in a hazard.

Awesome thanks for the info, I’m assuming that the t1100 would be even lower than the black?

Definitely a fair assumption. I'm pretty big and have a fast swing speed, and driver stays between 8.5 and 9.5 degrees depending on wind. My flight is low. I've heard some request the 7 degree head, and maybe with the stock shaft I could make that work. But 8.5 or 9 degrees plus the black 75g has been money.

I have the opposite, it's easy to turn over for me. I got a 9* head on a whim, and am a lower ball hitter to begin with but I bought into the higher launch talk, only to hit bullets, so I've increased the loft to the higher setting, so that may aid in turning it over for me. I've always traditionally been a draw player so this is normal, but I wasn't getting it with previous drivers. I tried hitting a big fade this past weekend and it was just a 10 yard cut, a predictable fade for me is difficult with this club. When I first got it I had some troubles losing it right, but once I dialed it in the left to right ball has pretty much gone away.

In general, this driver has been great, or bad, for me depending on the round. I've had some of my best driving rounds of the season with it, but also a couple bad rounds where I had no idea where it was going. The good outweighs the bad though, and is definitely enough to get me to keep working with it.

How does this compare to the TM M3? Really struggling off the tee right now.

IMO if your swing is in a bad spot nothing will fix it...especially not a $500 bill.

Every 6 months I take my Nike Vapor Speed to the store and hit new driver on the monitor vs it and nothing has beaten it yet.

The G400MAX is a great driver and maybe help 1 out of 5 of your mis-hits, but it's not a cure.

I just picked up my new G400 Max driver after an excruciating 12 day wait and boy was it worth it! This thing is the most forgiving club I've ever had in my hands. Due to not having long enough tees, I didn't catch a single ball in the dead center of the face, but they still took off like rockets. I made a couple of very stinky swings that I was sure would go nowhere, and the ball still took off like I almost hit it in the screws. Good gravy, this club is sooooo good!!!!! I ordered mine in 10.5° with stock Alta stiff at 44.75" D3 swingweight. Brought it home and checked it and everything is dead nuts perfect. Nice job PING! But I don't know how they are gonna top this one! I'm just not sure how a better club could even be made. I'm going to pick up some longer tees so that I can catch the ball higher on the face and who knows how far the ball is gonna fly?! And the sound and feel are fantastic, as well. The G400 Max is not just a home run, it's a grand slam! (Can you guys tell I'm excited? LOL)

Pardon my late reply, but congrats on your find.

I have a question for your order. I am going to order the same length as yours with the Silver Dual Core or Blue Tensei. So Ping does offer to make the stock swing weight (D3) even when cut to 44.75"?! That will be awesome.

So after playing the G400 Max for several months, I have taken it out of the bag for the G400 SFT. I realized that I was trying to look past the all-too-frequent pushes with the G400 Max, in light of its overall forgiveness.

As a lefty, playing a course that brings a lot of trouble to the left, it was getting very punitive. The G400 SFT brings in much more of the right side for me, and has been working better for me. YMMV.

We had Ping at our practice facility yesterday and I was finally able to fully test the G400 Max with several shafts. The best shaft for me of all that I tested was the Ping Tour stiff. It provided the most feel for me. I was really looking forward to loving this club and though I liked it a lot more than the G30, it still doesn't touch my '16 M2. It felt hard and spinny, and I just wasn't getting any distance with it. Granted, I don't have the swing speed that I once did but I get pretty great performance from my M2 in spite of that. All I can say is that they saved me about $600 by coming out and giving us the opportunity to hit them with every possible shaft combination. I'm already pretty Ping heavy in my bag these days and I've never liked having a one-brand bag for some reason. I'm still loving my i500 irons but my M2 is safe.

Different strokes for sure.

I've had the 400Max in my bag for about a month, for me, it just keeps getting better and better. Finally a club I can swing aggressively and get away with it!

Not every club works for everybody, but I am enamored with this driver. More fairways, shorter approach shots, and much more playable "misses".

It beat the Rogue sub zero it replaced in every category, by miles.

And, just like very other club ever made...YMMV.

Went for a driver fitting after reading all the love for the G400 Max. I just knew this was the driver for me. But as it turns out I came away with the G400 SFT. Just kept leaving the Max out to the right. Shaft changes didn't matter. Just hanging it out there. Probably because I was coming from a K15 with the heel weight SFT tech. I'll bet Ping comes out with a Max SFT in the near future. But for now I am loving the G400 SFT! It lowered my ball flight thus longer and for me it is straight or baby draws. Glad I got fit before I pulled the trigger.

I just did a demo of the Ping G400 max and bought it on the spot. Ive been demoing drivers this summer and havent found anything to replace my 913d2. Tried the new TM, Callaway and Titleist and my driver was better.

Distance wise the G400 was the same to slightly longer than mine. Where it really shined was accuracy. Any target I tried to hit I hit. I've never been this accurate with a driver. Even miss hits flew towards the intended target and didnt loose a terrible amount of distance.

I've been playing mostly Ping for the last 20 years but stayed away from the newer models mostly beause I didnt care for turbulators and dragon fly tech, but i can't argue with the results. I think Ping has a winner here.

Just traded my 917 D2 for the Ping G 400 max. Great decision on my part. The 400 max is unbelievable. Very very forgiving. I was hitting it all over the face during my first round with it, and didn’t lose much distance but best of all the ball alway seemed to find the fairway. I had a problem with the 917 and my launch on slight miss hits. The Max launch was perfect and just seemed to go forever. I would highly recommend the G max 400. Best driver I’ve ever put in my bag.
