Two for me.

Diamana 60 TX shaft in my 917 changed my driving until I hit the F9 Speedback.

 

917 is now toast and I'm driving out of my skin with the Speedback.

Swapping my 2 iron for a 19 Degree 818 H2 has the potential to be the best swap, but am struggling with accuracy at the moment with it so the jury is still out.

 

So I'll say my Oven Method 003 originally gamed by Carly Booth. Within 10 feet it is just as deadly as my Cameron Del Mar, but is much more dangerous outside of that. Its a bit on the short side, but if the putts go in I do not care.

I found the shaft choice with the 818H2 made a huge difference. I originally had the Tensei White in mine and decided to get "re-fit" and found that the Atmos Tour Spec Blue HB was the best fit. Now its probably my favorite club in the bag.

Going from 917 f3 to a alpha 816 3 wood. It’s long and straight and can even hit it off the deck. So happy with it

For me, making the permanent switch to undersize grips. Had been tinkering with different sizes and settled on this now.

Avon Chamois - they're .560 core so they're only slightly undersize, but the biggest difference is the butt cap - there's only a slight taper. Not sure why or how, but it's improved my AoA numbers and just "feels right".

Im noticing a trend in this thread that also helped my game... I went back to:

 

Vokey wedges from the Fourteen RM22. I didnt mind the RMs but something about the Vokeys weight or feel or grind just feels so at home for me.

 

Getting rid of the bigger straight grips on my couple of Putters and going back to the tiny pingman/pistolini grips.

 

 

I guess playing with these clubs for hundreds of hours growing up makes change a little difficult.

A freakin 5 wood.

 

I've NEVER had a 5 wood until this year. I'm not even entirely sure WHY I one day decided "I'd like a 5 wood." I guess if nothing else; I've never particularly gotten on with hybrids, I started playing longer courses and just wanted more confidence and consistency from 200-220 yards out. When I got fit for my TS3, I was trading in a handful of things and had enough leftover to pick up a TS2 with the same shaft for not much out of pocket. So I did; fully expecting to rarely use it.

 

Boy, was I wrong. I SMOKE that thing. Prior, if I were 220 or so out from a par 5 - I'd go 8-iron then 60° wedge every single time. Now? Man, I'm hitting more par 5s in two than ever. If I really get on it, I can get 235 or so, so it's great off the tee. 17 on my favorite course is a 220 yard par 3 that I used to dread ... now it's just a smooth swing with my beloved 5 wood.

 

I like it so much; when I ordered my PXGs, I just went 4-PW and picked up the same config on a TS2 7 wood. And I smoke that one, too. Way better than I ever hit a 3 iron, that's for sure.

Two significant changes:

1. KK XT 70 TX has been a revelation. Almost 50 and driving the ball nearly as deep as I did in my 20s but with less curvature.

2. Mizuno S18 wedges. Played the Ping Glides for the last 3 1/2 years but grabbed a 52° & 56° and bent them to 53° / 57°. My bunker and short-side issues are a thing of the past.

Put Srixon Z785s in the bag to replace my 716 CBs (which I still adore) and have seen my HCP drop 2 points to open the season. Also replaced 917 D3 with a Mizuno ST190 with a Diamana BF 70tx and a P790 UDI in the bag and have consistently hit more fairways per round. All in all I'd say it was $$$ well spent!

Going back to an OG Ping Anser (#teamsoundslot) after about a decade with an Odyssey Whote Hot #5 Mallett. Nothing wrong with the odyssey. Just like the feel and balance of the ping better. Results have been marginally better.

Just getting properly fit. I went from an off the rack bag to a fully fit bag and it's amazing just by doing that the changes and potential in my game now. Still suck and need to get some lessons but I'm having more fun on the course and can't wait to see my scores drop once I clean a few things up.

Mid size grips. After 20 years of golf, I had somebody tell me that my fingers aren't supposed to dig into my palm. I always struggled with tight grip pressure and to neutralize my grip.

Switched from Miura MC501 to TM P7TW irons

Switched from Miura Forged black wedges (50/54/58) to TM Hi Toe (54/58)

Switched from Miura MGP-M3 to Scotty Cameron California Coronado / Bettinardi SS8

Made switch from 17' M2 to F8+ driver and it is such a bomber with low spin.

also finally moved on from beloved z565/765 combo iron to P760/P730 combo. love more penetrating ball flight with more spin and thinner top line and sole.
