Incredible golf and this was an important day for everyone to take note of: Tiger can play to his absolute limits and still be comfortably beaten. If he needed a marker he now knows what he has to do to win. I'm interested to see if he can figure it out.

I don't think that was his A game. We'll see if he can straighten out the tee shots. Maybe call Butch or Butch's sons and see if they can help.

The driver will hold the key I think. If he can sort it out or hit less then off the tee and rely on his phenomenal iron ballstriking he might just do it. Just hope we don't run out of tournaments as the time off end of season might set him back in terms of momentum.

The open championship was still my favourite major this year but this PGA runs a very close second, the Masters was pretty good and the US Open was pretty terrible really. Dont get the meh feelings aboit BK that seem to be floating around here. Awesome player and would be suprised if he didnt win more often if he can keep the injuries away.

Way way back in my infintile golf career I snapped a tendon in my wrist. I could hit the ball ok. But when I came back I took a lot off my swing just by fear. And I’ve learned to hit the ball and be creative other ways. If someone could just go convince tiger that the fairway is awesome and build him an old offset cobra driver with a DG x100 steel shaft we might have a winner. He’s bush league off the tee and masterful with the irons.

Again, he tried hitting less today and was still spraying it. It wasn't a driver problem, it was a tee box problem.

So you've never made a mistake in your life? Why judge a man for only the things he's done wrong...have you ever done anything like this:

"In over the 20 years that this foundation has been opened they have served more than 175,000 students, as well as employing 1,000 educators each year. The foundation has been so successful due to its goal of “developing self-advocacy skills in young people,” that their students have a 98.7% college graduation rate, which is one of the highest graduation rates of a scholarship program in the country.

One of the greatest things about this foundation is that Tiger Woods created this program because he saw a hole in the society that he wanted to fill. He created this foundation because “I wanted a permanent, safe space for kids to explore their dreams” -Tiger Woods. He founded this program to help impoverished children and young adults, and in the past 22 years of it being opened, he has exceeded all expectations of this foundation."

I've never understood the whole "You once stole some paper clips from the office so you have no right to judge someone who cheated on his wife with 14 assorted skanks, skeezers, and pornstars." That's just silly relativism. We're all free to root for or against whomever we want for whatever reason we want. I've seen Tiger fans on this forum daily saying they can't root for various players because of much sillier reasons than infidelity. "Jordan Spieth - too fidgety." "Justin Thomas - too smug." "Jason Day - too sickly." "Rory - talks too much." "DJ - too sleepy." "Reed - wore red and black on Sunday once." I myself find it hard to root for Tiger not because of him, but because of his fans.

Did I ever say he had "no right to judge someone..."? Nope.

I meant to imply that he should consider having a little gentleness in his judgement and not be so brutal in his remarks because we have all made mistakes in our life.

And I implied that he should consider the good things Tiger has done along with the bad.

Also, I never suggested that he or anyone else wasn't free to root for or against whomever they want.

I myself find it frustrating to respond to posts like yours when you clearly didn't read or comprehend my post. And you're lumping me in with a bunch of other people when I all I did was point out that Tiger has done some good in his life.

You plainly said "you've never made a mistake in your life?" Implying that BForrester should show Tiger some gentleness or forbearance because he's made mistakes in his life as well yes? What is that if not drawing a parallel between whatever his sins may be and the sins of Tiger? Otherwise why bring up BForrester's sins to make your point? If I understand the whole premise of your argument it's that infidelity is a dumb reason for him to root against Tiger. That's why I brought up all the stupid reasons folks on the forum have given in the past for rooting against different players. I never accused you of being one of those Tiger fans who nitpick other players.

No, my post had nothing to do with rooting or not rooting for Tiger. I never said anything about rooting.

I was responding to the harsh nature of some of his posts, such as those referring to porn stars and Perkins' waitresses.

And yes I would wager every man on this earth has committed some form of sexual immorality in their life. And most are committing them to this very day (e.g. pornography).

So yes, when it comes to judging a man for his past transgressions, I think we should all look in the mirror first before spouting off purposefully inflammatory comments.

And, like I said before, try to take a holistic approach and judge him in his entirety. Otherwise, you may as well not have any friends or people you like because I guarantee they've all done nasty things. And we've all done nasty things. At some point you have to learn to forgive and take the bad with the good.

I mean, it's kind of strange when it comes to athletes, people will hold grudges against them until the day they die. It's like they are actually held to a higher standard than we hold ourselves, our friends or neighbors, etc. It's like they are the objects of our affection but also the carriers of our wrath.

Brooks is literally and im not insulting him by saying despite his OWGR which heavily leans on his majors a mid level player results wise on tour. he barely contends. Its just weird.im not calling him lucky or flukey, its just bizarre to me. Definitely not the norm

Maybe Koepka is like Cabrera and just doesn't give a hoot about the regular events. Kinda strange though. You would think the huge prize money on the regular tour would be good motivation for all of those guys.

For sure, I thought of Cabrera. Like I said its not a jab at him just almost funny at this point. You would think with his driving ability and irons he would contend more often.

2019 Masters Live Odds

Speith 9-1

Rory 10-1

DJ 11-1

Tiger 12-1 (and dropping fast)

Thomas 12-1

Rickie 14-1

Brooks 16-1 (dropping fast, but behind Rickie???)

Rahm 16-1

Reed 28-1

Phil 33-1

I'm picking Zach Johnson right now. Who's with me?

Which one?

I assume it would be the one that already has an invitation. Zach J needed to win this week to get in.

Before I acknowledge the new Andy North of winning 3 majors like he's playing a member-guest, TW played as good as he could with terrible play off the tee. His progress is amazing. I'm impressed. Maybe next year he'll put it all together. But I'd be shocked if he's not on the Ryder Cup team with iron play like that.

Brooks Koepka is a mensch. What he doesn't do in a regular tournament comes alive in majors. I'm so impressed. And to do it in his own way by going on the Challenge and European Tours is the new way to do it. More American golfers need to try it this way.

Congrats!

If Tiger isn't on the Ryder Cup team, I'm going to find the captain (whose name rhymes with Zurich) and punch him in the face.

As a father of a 14 and 11 year old girl I find it very hard to root for him in light of his indescretions and his total disrespect of women. Men are mostly pigs and almost every single man thinks every single woman wants to see his junk. I would love to see history, but won't lose sleep if it doesn't happen. He's a miserable human being by most accounts

Oh come on. Any other virtue signaling you'd like to engage in here?

Today was great theater and there's no need for the holier-than-thou nonsense. I am sure you are a fantastic father to your daughters, but this post is just out of order.

tiger woods is the luckiest golfer to ever play the game

Those that saw him play are the lucky ones.

He had a horse shoe in his pocket, found a four leaf clover, and rubbed a rabbits foot for his luck on his drop on 5, his drive not going in the water on 10 and his lie/position on 17.

He was money with his irons and wedges no doubt, but had those three shots ended up a couple of feet left or right...He shoots 68.

ESPECIALLY on 17 (5 feet left=WET).

Course is not major championship worthy when you can miss every fairway on the front nine and still shoot 3 under par.

Being able to hit the fairway should count for something. It no longer does.

No kidding.....to include the "drop" that Tiger got while next to the cart path.....where he got to place the ball on a perfect lie, 2 club lengths closer to the fairway, which then gave him a direct shot at the pin. Major Championships really need to penalize errant shots, whether they are off the tee or into the green. That said, what a fantastic round by Tiger. He sure gave it a run today!

Nah, you just have to master the technique of missing your drive by so much that it gets past the primary rough but not quite to the Port-A-Potties. That gives you a nice, trampled down lie with which you can hit it low, high, fade it, draw it, whatever.

tiger woods is the greatest golfer to ever play the game

In a lot of ways I agree with you. Jack was damn good too. I’d still call it a tie of sorts. But tiger has time and looks like ability to go at the record. Next 5 years will tell if he stays healthy.

Poor Brooks. Wins his 2nd major of the year and he isn't even the main story on the Golf Channel. Oh well, at least he has a beer commercial.

Well he did just get paid an insane amount of money for winning two events. Saw a trivia post on Twitter that Koepka is getting paid more for these two major wins than the prize money for Arnold Palmer and Gary Player in their entire careers combined.

Nick, Gary, and some Nantz wouldn't shut up about Koepka's biceps and his build. He's not that big, the TV adds weight and the majority of Tour Pros are slender... Which makes him look built by comparison.

Regardless he smokes the ball, but has great touch as well.

After this final round I've come to the conclusion that I hate Gary McCord. He. Simply. Will. Not. Shut. Up.
