The wind is blowing. Accuracy will be paramount. Rough looks chewier than it was when I played GN in August. Some serious recovery skills will be needed this week. I am not going to call the result as the teams are so well matched.

There is zero doubt he'll have the hat - Payne Stewart always had one and Bryson often plays practice rounds without it.

 

I do find it cool/odd that the Euros almost always go without a hat in the Ryder Cup. I like the different look, but as someone who plays wearing a hat, I am surprised that they don't feel like something is off without the hat. These guys are so locked in that Faldo once admitted he always cut his fingernails on the same day so that his feels weren't different in tournaments.

Cycle of the last 30 years is the USA win one in every blue moon, they won the last so they might win it again in the next 10 years at some point, but not this year (EUROPE EUROPE EUROPE!!)

It's Ryder Cup week, not "Tiger hasn't won a major in 10 years but he's still the GOAT week". And, of course, go Tiger and team in just a matter of hours!!!!!

 

Edit: but I must confess I'm wearing a European Team Ryder Cup jacket, just because I think theirs look pretty neat and fit my sense of style. If I root for Stenson to win all his points but the U.S. wins the Ryder Cup am I a bad person?

Was just kidding, meant nothing serious. I personally think his normal hat looks silly on someone his age, but that's just me. One of my brothers sometimes wears a similar hat and I think he looks silly wearing it too, but it doesn't mean I don't love him.

 

And don't get me started on the 99% of singer-songwriters that for some reason find it obligatory to wear some kind of hat. Why? Looks like they're playing dress-up, pretending to be a singer-songwriter! But that's a different topic...
