I also have a driver journey....started with g400 max 10.5 with tour 65 Stiff, then found a killer combo with tensei pro white 60 TX. loved it but it it high....went on a search for 4 woods and got a 2016 tour issue M2 HL which was amazing so decided to get the 2016 M2 driver as well. was long but not accurate. Then tried tour issue M4 not as accurate. went and purchaed g400 max 9 deg head and still too high. Then tried g400 8.5 LST at the big minus it was hitting amazing distance but not as accurate. Tried then g400 LST 10 degree and it was lower spin and launch but not nearly as accurate as the g400 max. Also tried the g410 still not as accurate.....

so I finally realized the error of my ways and custom ordered a g400 max digitally lofted at 8 degree set at the big minus with tensei pro white 60 TX and all is right in the world again. Way more accurate, hitting nice cuts of the tee that don't go left.....

THE G400 MAX IS AMAZING...ACCURACY IS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN LENGTH!

Started the year with the Epic Flash. Spent to much time in the woods on the right. Got a Srixon Z785 driver ...nice and straight..but just to short.. Now... Titleist TS2.. Took the Tensei Blue 55 shaft out and put in a kuro Kage Black 55 shaft in. A real bomber that stays on the fairway. In my bag for a long time.

Started with Rogue SZ then have gone through four different Epic Flashes, three different F9s and two G410s. There honestly may be a couple others, but I can’t remember.

I just sold my last F9 yesterday and have declared the Epic Flash my gamer.

The one constant over the past few years has been my trusty Tour AD DI shaft.

Played a gen 1 8.5 deg PXG 0811x w/weights forward and a PX 6.5 t1100 evenflow white all year. Never drove the ball better. Consistently high 200’s for yardage and an absolute fairway finder. Drove a few 310yd par 4’s. Yes the sound is a touch odd at first and takes some getting used to, but when playing 6800yd courses, it leaves a scoring iron or wedge into every green and made golf much more enjoyable.

Two, but my driver journey will come to an end: Titleist 903 D3 and TM M2 '17. Bought the last one this year.

Though it feels great to bomb a drive down the fairway, a good round of driving is actually landing on the fairway more than 4 times a round.. Just not good enough. Much more accurate with a 3 wood and still with good length. However, a similar lofted hybrid again is better from varied lies than a 3w. So my 3w journey eventually will come to an end as well I reckon.

I will leave the drivers for those with more talent than me..

Bag 1: 2h: Srixon ZX4h: TM M1 ('17) ; Irons: MD Golf 7i & 9i, Wedges: RTX full face 52o & 58o; Putter: Spalding Pro Flite

Played until about June with my '17 M2 and Black Tie shaft, found an M4 head for a song so I upgraded to that and its stayed in the bag since then. Interestingly enough, the Black Tie and the M4 don't get a long, so I've been on a bit of a run trying out shafts in the latter half of the year (Pro Blue, HZRDUS Yellow, Fujukura Speeder 661) and might continue that trend into the winter until I find something that feels right.

Started the year with Epic SubZero, which I'd played for the previous two seasons. I don't think I actually played any rounds with it, as I picked up a Epic Flash SubZero and put it in play from the first round of the year with the same shaft (Rogue Silver 125MSI 70TX) I'd used in the OG Epic SZ. The Flash Subzero turned out to be a huge mistake, I finally admitted after about 20 rounds and experiments with a few different shafts (Tensei Pro Orange 70x, Atmos Black 80x).

After that, I switched to my current Ping G410 LST. I started with the 125MSI Rogue Silver 70TX in that, but after getting a 130 MSI Rogue 80TX to put in my 3 wood (basically because I couldn't find the 125 MSI anywhere), I really liked that profile, so I switched to the 70TX version of that in the driver.

Now that the season is basically over, I'm getting an early start on the winter boredom ho'ing, and I'm going to try out a couple of Aldila Synergy Tour Prototype shafts (Black & Green), just to see if I like either one a little better. I like my current setup a lot, but there's been a couple of days where I just seem to struggle with it a little directionally, so I'm looking for something that might help me gain a little more consistency (what I should do is try to get better at golf, but that's less fun).

Ping G430 LST 9* (set to 7.5*), 45", Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6x
Ping G430 LST 14.5* (set to 13*) Fujikura Ventus Black 7x
Ping G430 Max 18* (set to 17*) Fujikura Ventus Black 8x or Tour Edge CBX Iron-Wood 17* (Black Pearl) Fujikura Ventus HB Blue 9x
Epon AF-306 4i + Epon AF-Tour CB2 5-PW, Nippon Modus 125X
Yururi Seida Black 52*, Nippon Modus 125/Titleist Vokey SM8 58* K-Grind & 62* M-Grind DG S200
Byron Morgan long pipe neck B-17, Brushed Mystic finish, 34" or Byron Morgan long pipe neck beached 007x

Still rocking an old Ping G30 w/ black ProjectX 6.0 shaft. I played it through most of 2018 (including summer league play). Went on detail for work from October 2018 through August 2019 and only played a handful of rounds with it. Just completed the detail/I've had a few lessons/range sessions/and been on the course and I'm still bagging it. I tried a 2017 TM M2 440 for several range sessions but I couldn't find a groove with it all. I'm going to play the G30 until I'm not playing it anymore.

I love golf

Started with same driver as the year before Callaway fusion 10.5 weight to 206 grams, with fuji Evo 3 661 stiff at 46 inches. The hamer.

At the same time I bought and compared it to mizuno 10.5 hL st190, st190g, Ping g400 max, Ping g400, Callaway epic flash 10.5 and 10.5 flash subzero. Various shafts the only one that has stated up with the fusion dispersion wise and length has been the ping g400 so it has stayed. Love the st190 hL looks, feel, length but a little less forgiving than the fusion and g400 max. I was hoping the flash was it but I don’t get why people like the club, sounds hollow, way to light head weight and the top line is ugly. Doesn’t go as far as the fusion either.

Done with drivers, fusion and ping g400 max are good enough.
