The American team just seems boring to me. Part of the excitement in these team events is the players getting rowdy and pumping the tires and there is none of that. DJ and Woodland may be the most boring pairing in the history of these events. I guess it's tough to get excited after getting smoked on the first couple holes and then missing a 4 footer for eagle, but those guys really have no personality. Webb Simpson / Patrick Reed......terrible pairing. Reed is the one player that can get animated quickly and get the team into it and Simpson is like the Fun Police. Bryson with all his quirks is an interesting player to watch, but not so much in a team format. I thought Finau played well in spite of Bryson. I hope its a little more exciting tonight. The Internationals seemed to have some fire and spunk. It's easy to go out there and perform when everybody expects you to lose and there is no pressure.....and they put on quite a show. Huge credit to Adam Scott for recovering from that opening tee shot to play really well.

Yeah, bucket list course for sure. My sister lived in Tasmania for a year, and I regret not getting over there to play (and see her of course) while she was there. Just bad timing--young family and lots of work responsibilities for me at that time and I just couldn't quite justify taking two weeks off and flying that far.

I think for all these events, no player should be allowed to sit out two rounds in a row. I don't care how bad I might be playing, sitting me Thurs and Fri would piss me off. Hopefully Haotong gets plastered on a case of Tsingtao and tries to fight Ernie in the clubhouse.

The best thing to elevate the Presidents Cup to something closer to the Ryder Cup would be an upset and a real contest. I would expect if there was a poll here before the contest started, the vast majority would have considered a US victory more or less a formality.

I'm an American, but I'm rooting for the International team, but I really don't care overall as long as Patrick Reed loses more than he wins (I'm a PR hater...sorry).

It takes a certain personality type to be great at match play. I never liked the Woodland and Finau picks. Great players and people, but they don't want to slit your throat and bury you. Kisner and Na were made for this. Tiger has it. Reed has it. JT has it. Kuchar and Fowler have a little of it. The rest of the team just doesn't have the fire in their belly the US needs.

As an Aussie that has played at RM, I love this event

I like some of the US players but am pulling hard for the underdogs

And admittedly, I want Reed to get creamed in all his matches

Running again and Keto. Treadmill ... speed walk 1/5 lap, light jog 1/5 .. run as best you can last 3/5th. Down 14 minutes on 5 miles in first month alone

Don't think I'll ever get back to mid 20's me where I could do 5 miles in 29 minutes (at 220 lbs)

I do feel in the Ryder Cup and this event it is a HUGE factor if the opposing team can set or pick a course up that takes away long and high from point A to point B

I’d change the automatic qualifications to favor performance on courses like the cup venue, and if there were more match play events, that too. The best player was a captain’s pick. ?

My wife has been a runner for years. She inspired me to get back in. We are both running a 10K in January. She'll beat me.

I was at a healthy weight before, but now I just feel better. Sleeping better too. Cut back on the snacking and now am drinking a ton of water.

 

When you age, you MUST do 2x as much just to maintain.

Finau I think did OK. I obviously don't know the guy but he looks like the ultimate nice guy. The guy I didn't mention earlier that has no place on these team events is Kuchar. He is another player that just screams boring.

Honestly, I would like the President's Cup better if Team USA couldn't use Ryder Cup players. Give some of those other players a chance to shine in these events. If you were in the Ryder Cup the year before, you aren't eligible for the Prez Cup. Let's see what Kinzer, Kevin Na, Cameron Champ and some of those other players can do. I am tired of seeing the same dozen people in these events. How do we know Ryan Palmer or Jason Kokrak aren't great at these events? I would be even more interested in it if it was men and women. Could you imagine how much better the international team gets when you make it co-ed? I would watch that all day.
