I will agree with that. Plus, if you start with a used Scotty there may be no further depreciation. The upside may be limited however.

Stock up on your favorite tour ball. New models are about to come out so many companies will start dropping the price on their previous year's model. There should also be some New Years sales or start of the season sales. You can buy a whole year's worth of balls and still have some money left over. I'd spend the rest on new grips if you like your current bag setup. New grips are always nice going into a new season.
