A lot of talk about low spin with the 9 degree Sim...….How about the 10.5.

I went with a 10.5 I usually play a 9, I am glad I did. This thing was stupid easy to hit and the flight was a perfect combination of low spin, and stability. I had my ADTP in it and was hitting in a bit of head wind. No shots ballooned and the flight was forward and stable. I am very impressed with the ball flight and the sound. Hope this helps.

I have a 9.5* M3, and the 10.5* is what I would go with if I decide to get the SIM. The 9* didn't launch high enough or spin high enough for me. Launch and spin were right where I would want them with the 10.5* head.

Here are my thoughts on SIM and spin.

If you played m5/6 then you'll likely go into the same loft as those. SIM doesn't spin significantly less than those.

If you ate in something other than m5/6 then your loft consideration should be based a ton more on fitting. M5/6 spun lower than the previous M lines for sure.

Another factor is your shot shape. With the weight as low and back as it is in SIM, the face tends to rotate faster than the m5/6. So if you are a drawer then you may see lower spin simply because the face is more closed to path than m5/6.

The design of SIM suggests it is not super low spin compared to m5/6...it actually suggests it would be a touch higher spin.

All in all...go get fit. Don't try to purchase and hope.

No, I hit both on trackman at Club Champion and at 10.5 turned down to 9.75 I found the heads to be pretty equal with strike providing the biggest factor.

I ended up going with the Max as I messed around with the SIM weights and it didn’t do much for me as I was able to hit it both ways. Additionally the slightly deeper profile of the Max appealed to me over the SIM which seemed more shallow.

Only thing left to do is get the head weight dialed in.

Added 4g of melt to mine and like it even more now, closer to the old M6 feel. Before the melt it was a bit hollow sounding. In between the stock smoke green and my old Tensei PO 70TX

(Finally) received my SIM with Ventus Black today. At stock length it swingweights pretty heavy (D6-D7) but that is fine as I will either cut down the Ventus or use something else. 196g head weight which is pretty much exactly what most of my TM heads have been over the years.

Shout out to that retailer with a lower price than anyone on the Ventus upgrade. Now to find a blue 6x to compare!

Interestingly that the large number of Callaway tour players are to this point staying with their various Epic drivers (with Mavrik headcovers) over the Mavriks. TM has switched a much higher % of Tour players (staff and non staff) to the SIM or SIM Max (although this last weeks winner hasn't yet changed the driver but has changed the 3 wd).

Received my Sim 8 with Ventus black 6X playing at 45'' today. I was a bit concerned about SW cause I didn't specify anything in the notes - ordered directly from TM website. Pleasantly surprised that it came bang on at D4. I'm a happy customer. This was my first ever direct retail purchase.

Nice, I ordered mine 1/2 short and the HW came in at 199.5 which I was happy with. I can’t put my thumb on it, but this head reminds me of my 905R. Man that was a great club!

Anybody know the weight for the front slider? I want to play with adding a little weight but unsure which M5 weights to purchase to add a few grams.

Front weight is 10g. M5 weights fit. The black weight is a 4g weight. A bit tricky to get in there but it fits perfectly. Be careful with 4g weights. You don't have to torque them down. Just a good tight screw in will be fine. After 5-10 torque downs and the screw strips.

No idea. SW is somewhere between d2 and d3. I play a 125msi rogue silver at 45" with a mcc+4 grip. I had to add 4g to get the SW up.

My shaft in the demo head came out to d0 so I knew I needed the 4g and wanted to put it in the front track to help slow down fast rate of closure I saw while getting fit.

Finally got to hit some balls today outdoors, this driver is definitely not the ultra low launching club some are claiming it is from my experience. Don't have an outdoor TM but set to 7* it was launching in a identical window and had very similar flight to my G410 LST set to 7* as well. I'm sure YMMV but this is turning out to be a club where fitting is a must.

I know it’s an early call to make, but what did you think about it compared to the LST? I play the 410 LST also lofted down and have a SIM on the way.

I've only hit both outdoors together once, 10 shots each. Early impression is ball flight for ME is basically interchangeable. SIM total distance was 5-10 yards longer, also more difficult to keep on line for me. Prefer the feel of the LST but the sound of the SIM. Being totally honest, I have no clue which will end up in the bag and which will be on BST this year. SIM just looks so good I want it to be the winner.

I'd say it looks fairly square to my eye. I want it to be open but it's not much, but definitely not closed.

Yeah, definitely a go get fit club. The design says dynamic loft (and thus, launch) will be higher than m5/6. Design also suggests spin won't be much lower than m5/6.

Comparing sim 10.5 to M5 9.0. they launch about the same with same shafts.

And that's why I'm sticking with my tour-issued M6. No real significant difference other than a better color scheme in the SIM.
