2020 TaylorMade SIM and SIM Max drivers (in hand photos, M5/M6 comparison pics)

I had the same issue coming from M3. SIM for me on trackman was barely staying in the air with spin in the 1500-1700 range (had two bad shots that were 1100 rpms) I ended up having to move to the SIM Max at 10.5 lofted down to 9.75 to get my spin between 2000-2100

Me too. I had to go to the MAX because the sim is too low spin for me. I was also in that 1500 rpm range.

I got fit back to back days for the SIM and the Mavrik. When I walked away from the SIM fitting, I thought there was no way the Mavrik would outperform it due to me not getting along with any Callaway clubs in recent history. Got fit for the Mavrik and ball speeds were 3-4mph higher on average and picked up about 10 yards in carry compared to the SIM. I wanted the SIM to outperform the Mavrik so badly as I prefer Taylormade, but I couldn't argue with the numbers.

Its great there are good options everywhere. Mav, SIM, Speedzone. They are all good, but different.

For sure, luckily I had a fitting day for both of them close to me. I still may get a SIM Max and test it out on course compared to the Mavrik SZ once I have it since I still have my Taylormade shafts

Had been tinkering with SIM and ventus black but don't get along with it. Built my head to 204g and Pro orange playing 45.25" this morning and absolutely hits missiles. Always have struggled with spin, but this brought me sub 2000 and maintained good ball speed 170's. Will report back in a few weeks with full TM session

& 1/3rd of the Regular Heads will be up on the BST & Ebay by May. It's too low of a spin driver for the masses......

i must be one the few who doesn't think the "regular" SIM is too low of spin. ive got my 9* set one notch towards lower and the spin is right where i want for my ball speed and launch

I played 9 yesterday in wind stronger than what was at Pebble, that would have been useful! My first drive with the sim max was a high draw that curved curved 50 yards before being blown back towards me lol

Today I saw 3 videos on the new Mizuno ST200 driver, it real got my attention so much I want to demo one, there is one I can hit later but the stock shafts they offer I never hit. I went to range today to see if my club had the diamana black 60-S or Blue which is what’s used in Mizuno. As would be, they had One that I could put in my M5, it was in a SIM 9.5 Black 60-S. In my M5 I really liked the dispersion, I could tell not spinning a lot, but without a monitor I really don’t know. So I asked guys at shop put the black version in the st200 head so can try after range session with my M5. Since I was still at the range and had a SIM head I said I’ll give try since my M5 performance was good, it felt like the SIM was too lite! It felt like I lost control of head in my transition, very high slice fades. Then one guy who had a epic next to me said he never cared for TM, but would I mind if he hit my M5. He was so blown away how straight and long he hit it that he literally wanted to buy it from me on the range, I said sorry this is my second one, I got rid of my first one and I wanted it back, so bought a head on eBay, he said his epic he could never keep it from going right just like the Mavrik he tested too. Fast forward two hours and I hit the ST 200 in the bay with the shaft that I wanted, I was getting about 3000 on the spin and I was carrying it proximately 235-260 at times when I got my swing speed up a little, my max swing speed is probably 98. I’ve been getting about 220 carry on my M5. I still have my M5, and have added the ST200, it’s really a nice driver.

So I’ve heard talk of the Sim weights but do we know if there are heavier weights for sim max that back weight?

I think he's one of the few who thinks it is. It's no less spinning than m5 and m6 were.

I hit the SIM 8* yesterday with the AD-XC 6X and launch and spin was surprisingly good. After watching all the youtube guys get 1100-1700 I was worried but I had my usual 2100-2400 spin and a launch 0f 10-13*. These were beat up range balls so I don't really know what the driver does on a course yet. Oh and yesterday was super windy so the wind may have assisted in my launch and spin.

I went out and played a few holes today. The SIM is soo good I am selling my epic Flash triple Diamond. I do not see the need to keep it. If anyone is interested. Check out the classified is just a few.

I haven't seen the SIM be too low spin indoors, but I am impressed with it so far and enjoy how it looks and sounds. Once I got the head weight up to a decent range it was WAY more controllable. My big miss is a hook and I've seen less with this head- a win no matter what.

It is definitely lower launching and spinning than M5.

Anyone have a hzrdus green from a stock SIM/Max? Would be interested in a measurement to the top of the diamond graphic - would like to know if they are tipping them per usual or if they’re installing the stock shafts straight in.

First time on the course today to play 18 with SIM 9* with Real Ventus black and it was extremely successful! For reference Swing speed about 118 on trackman. First thing i noticed was this thing did NOT want to turn over which i liked because i play a fade. I lost a couple right to start but realized i can really release the hands hard and started hitting bullet fades. Not one ball went left all day. I feel like distance was on par with my 17 m2 but i wasnt looking for distance but more control. My m2 had tendencies to snap hook bad once in a while and this SIM wouldnt go left for the life of me hahah. Super impressed with the sound and feel i love the Thud sound and feel it has. Almost like back when i played baseball and would hit with wooden bats! Love it so far!

Sim max 9 degree with haz green 70 6.5 x. But I am going to order a KBS driver shaft to put in it. I really want to try that shaft and by description seems to fit my mold.
